G'day, hope you can bear the wait until TMX arrives.  I spent the waiting downloading all sorts of recipes so that I could try lots of new things when it arrived.  And stocking up on ingredients that I'd need - lots of grains and nuts etc for fresh bread.

If strawberries are cheap where you are, buy some and chop and freeze them now.  And stun everyone with Fruity Dream from the cookbook when your machine arrives.

Hi Green, welcome to the wonderful world of the TMX. There are heaps of us here having a ball, sharing recipes, asking questions and making friendships along the way.  Have fun!

Thanks!

That's a great idea about the strawberries. I just saw them for $1.50! Might have to stock up.
*Off to look at bread recipes*

Welcome Green! Banana's are another great one to peel, chop and freeze (in large ice cube size approx) I don't chop my strawberries when I freeze them (unless you have gigantic ones up there in Cairns  :o :o)

Hi Green.  Aren't the people on this forum so nice the way they make us new ones feel so welcome - I just joined too and it was so nice to get all the 'welcome' posts.

The receipe section is amazing, can't wait to do the custard icecream thingy - sounds yum!!!

Hi Green. I live in Cairns too and we are getting some great strawberries at the moment. Try Alan's fruit and veggies at Smithfield outside Woolworths.  He has strawberries straight from the farm in 500gm punnets often cheaper than anywhere else. If you ask you might get last weeks even cheaper. I also ask for a box of cooking tomatoes which they sell to me for between $5 and $8. I do this often on Monday when they are restocking. I then spend the day making tomato everything. His pineapples are to die for and if I happen to get a really ripe one the juice is unbelievable. Enjoy.

Gretchen I am so jealous. I didn't like fresh pineapple until I visited Queensland. Now I am disappointed everytime I buy one here as they are no where near as nice.

The temptation is certainly there. I would have loved to be able to sneak up on Judy, Amanda and Trudy when they had their get together. DH wants to go back to Q'ld next year, but he is thinking of Longreach, not the coast. I want to go back to SA. We didn't get there as planned this year. :'( :'(

Gretchen & Cookie - remember when they used to have 'mystery' flights and until you got to the airport you didn't know where you were going to end up.  What a pity they don't still have them, they were cheap.  Just say the word girls and we will organise another get together - how lovely it would be to have some interstate friends join us.
