I bought a second hand breadmachine because I was so grossed out by what had become of the insides of my first one  And six months on, the second one is just about the same having looked unused when I bought it  My breadmachines are well used compared to my friends' though, so I feel a bit better now!

My MC went green first I think, but can't for the life of me remember what from. I've had TMX for less than 3 months so it hasn't lasted long. It's not very clear and has curry infusions now too We had curry the night before I had a demo, using my machine, and I was very embarrassed to discover the bowl still smelled of curry the next day

Do you leave the lid loose Depome and the MC just sitting on the top? Mine occasionally does smell but it seems to go if I give it another wash.

I never store the bowl with the cup in place.

I usually pull it apart completely and concentrate on the lid and lid seal after making curries, and usually leave it to air over night before assembling it, but even then it often has curry odours. 

Somebody said to rub the lid/seal with lemon juice and place in the freezer to help get rid ot the smell

My Tumeric coloured MC did fade over time after making Tikka PAste from the Indian Cook book (so did the matching stain on the bench) I use my yellowy MC with pride like I do my wrinkles - shows I have been around the block a few times

My MC lost its yellowy colour eventually after a quite a few trips in the dishwasher! But now I have milky white markings on it which the dish washer is not moving. With regard to smelly Tm's I have never had that, but I do get little brown smudge marks after e.g. cheese sauces, jams etc. I fill up the machine halfway with ice cubes, a lemon cut in quarters, crank up the speed to 10, then take it down to 2 and put the temp on varoma for 5 mins. This takes out any possible marks and smells.
