TMX-less in Adelaide
« on: January 15, 2010, 01:42:27 am »
Hi,
I'm KL.
I live in Adelaide, South Australia. I've really enjoyed reading the posts on this wonderful forum. Such joy and humour is a great salve for the fact that I DO NOT HAVE A Thermomix ..... YET!!! I've been to two demonstrations already though.
I'm still trying to convince DH that the money spent will be paid back 10 fold in other ways!
Just thought I'd say HI and continue to dream!!!

Cheers,
 :-\

Hi KL! Keep working on him, he'll come around eventually. It's expensive, you could buy a stove at the same price, but, unlike a power guzzling stove, it saves money and time. More importantly, you can prepare healthy foods at home instead of buying less than healthy options.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Hi KL, how painful it must be to read and see all these wonderful recipes and not have a TMX  :'( :'( :'(  Have you taken DH along to one of the demos - that usually works in your favour. Or perhaps having a demo in your own home might be the answer. We need to boost our Adelaide numbers so good luck with convincing DH that you really need one of these machines. Looking forward to the day when you tell us you have ordered one.

Welcome KL - hope you can convince DH - or win Tattslotto.  Fingers crossed for both.

This was indeed the answer for me. You will most likely find your DH less resistant once he has seen the TMX in action. If you do have a demo at home, discuss the menu with the consultant and plan flavour combinations he likes. Sounds devious but really just maximising opportunity ;) ;) ;D ;D

Hi and welcome. Show your DH all the wonderful photos that Isi and Julie have posted (and others) then he will be convinced.
I sat down yesterday and worked out the cost of the bread I like (5 seed bread for me) and the washing powder and it is really amazing how much you save. We hadn't really worried too much about preservatives until we got our TMX and found we weren't having them. Now we find if we do have some preservatives we either can't sleep or become very itchy!!!

It's also great for smoothies and icecream and we are sending some hot weather over the Nullabor to you!

Didn't take you too long to convince DH KL, good work. Now if only your friend would answer her phone.....
