Hi all, have had my machine for 2 years and won't go on holidays without it, works even with the generator.
Have enjoyed reading the forum and thought it was time to introduce myself.
 Still need to get more beef recipes going but otherwise I (& hubby) think it's the best since sliced bread.

Hi and welcome Shirleyt. We take our TMX away with us as well. Haven't used it with the generator yet, but DH tells me it will be fine.

Hi Shirleyt, welcome to our little group. Gosh, where have you been hiding  You must have lots of recipes you can share with us and if that meat cookbook that is in the pipeline ever gets published, maybe you will find more beef recipes in that.

I was just thinking earlier today that it would be great to have a challenge involving beef recipes if the meat cookbook doesn't come out soon.  Our beef section on the forum is lacking a bit when compared to chicken etc.  Maybe a beef challenge would be good leading up to autumn and winter.

Being an "introduced" species I hope nobody thinks it needs to be exterminated/destroyed before it colonises and reproduces ??

Last week I had a chat with a chef in Newport Beach who had a problem and was less than enthusiastic about the "customer non-service" from Vorwerk.  I recommended he join this forum but he said that he is working sixteen-hour days and barely has time to say "Hi" to his wife and kids and hasn't looked at his computer for months.   
He also has a My Cook cooking robot and is using that since the TMX is out of service.   He has no problem with the Euro model because the restaurant has plenty of 220 sockets.    He bought his TMX early last year when he was in Belgium for a cooking competition.  Apparently chefs have no problem purchasing them directly in Europe.

The MyCook works by induction - it is like the TM21 in speeds etc .

Shame about the service and YES - no problems getting them from certain sources in Europe !!

Welcome shirley. Hope you enjoy this forum. I've really found it very useful, although I haven't contributed much so far... tooooo busy trying all the new recipes  For more beef recipes I think the Indian cook book should be a great help, looking at the index, and I think that your own recipes can convert very easily it is just quantities that are a bit difficult. 

I'd like to ask you a question about the generator- what size is your generator? My DH and I travel off road a lot and I've been wondering if our generator is large enough to warrant me taking the TMX with us. We have a Honda 10i and we use it a fair bit when we are out-back, we use a Cobb but the versatility of the TMX  makes me want to leave the Cobb behind and to take the TMX instead.

My DH is out at the moment but I will ask him when he gets home what size our generator is.  Friends who have a TMX and camp off road a lot have just bought a generator the same as ours. I'm looking forward to cooking up a storm and having all the people in the bush wondering where the lovely smells are coming from.
Most times we've camped off road before I've banned the generator as no -one else has theirs on and it is so lovely and quiet that I don't want to spoil it.

I made the beef and mushroom curry from the Indian cook book last night.   It was excellent ..However I completed the cooking in the TMX machine,  not in the oven as suggested in the recipe,  it was perfect..What i have noticed is that you can cook meat in the bowl provided that you use  and .  and also consider the cut of the meat.  The time will depend on the cut.    So Chelsea, just convert your favorite beef recipes,   and add a little less liquid as there is not as much evaporation.

Good advice Chookie - I often use 90 degrees too for beef.
