cakes, biccies, slices  for a cent sale.... for a friend. how easy is that for me to do.

whats a cent sale

I'm guessing its where the goods are all sold for under a dollar, like 20 cent biscuits or 50 cent muffins....

a cent sale is when you get lots and lots of things to sell. people buy tickets, then you put so many tickets in to try to win the prize.  alot of oldies love them.

I am doing cakes ect for the afternoon tea that they have.

Thai Chicken Sausage Rolls
Cyndi O'Meara's Vegetable Sausage Rolls
CreamPuff63's Sausage Rolls

Lots of pastry (either the rough puff pastry or ice puff pastry) ... Or both to compare ...
Sweet Chili Sauce

Having had a chance to now eat some of these, I can comment.

Of the two puff pastries, I think the Ice Puff Pastry works best, isn't quite so overwhelmingly buttery and easier to make.

Of CP's sausage roll and the Thai Chicken, neither has swung me. Of 5 they are both sold 3's, though 4 for the missus.

I found the Thai Chicken slightly lacking but I can't put my thumb on what, though it hasn't stopped me polishing some off.
CP's don't have much of a flavour for me (though a strong smell, that I put squarely down to the sausage meat that I got at the Supermarket. It was Braten-Mett which was 97% pig, then onion, spices and something else for the other 3%).

Of the 60 or so I brought to school this afternoon for a Autumn party (note Germans don't do Sausage Rolls), a good half of them are gone (interestingly more the chicken ones, don't know why as neither are labeled)

I've yet to try the veggie ones, they are sitting at home waiting to be tried. My only comment on those ATM, is that the mixture wasn't as stiff as I was expecting. It was more a slightly liquidy slop)

Tonight I made stir fry from in the mix.
Instead of meat I used chicken and cooked 400g of rice.
I also upped the oyster and sauce.

Hubby and kids gave it 5/5
Will definitely make again.

Rob, I also find the vegetarian mixture very wet and a bit hard to work with.
I must make them again and see if I can't get a drier consistency.

I made one batch earlier before I went out and out the rest in the fridge. When I came back I made the rest up and it was much easier to work with having chilled for a few hours. Much easier consistency to work with.

Party I was just at (left early as feeling unwell, indeed going to sleep shortly), of the three types I took over the Vegie ones where incredibly popular. Nobody touched the sausage meat ones, a couple of the chicken ones got eaten and 18 Vegie ones had been eaten when I left (with another 5 left to be eaten there). Everyone declared them incredibly tasty.

As long as the chilli sauce tastes OK Uni, the colour doesn't matter does it ;)
