Well a big day in the TMX today  :o ;D
porridge
loaf of seed bread slipped and added a bit too much honey but it was fine - this is so yummy and easy woweee  :o
whipped cream
salted caramel mapel - but ran out of mapel syrup so used golden syrup for the remainder
pizza dough - yum yum yum  ;D
a version of salted caramel but used kaluha instead of mapel syrup, on a wim to give it a go as I had the cream to use. I am notm totally convinced on this one but grated some white and dark chocolate (by hand) and folded it through after I wizzed it the second time. Will report back when it is set. I think the heat at varoma might have altered the taste a little too much

Hi Meagan,

what is kaluha?

I'm going to make bread, Cilantrppesto, Chocolatespread, breaded or dehydrated eggplants. We have lots of of Lentil-Eggplant-Goulash left from yesterday. It has to go into the freezer.

Kahlua is an alcohol like baileys but without the cream/milk in it. I was thinking about the whole bourbon vanilla bean icecream idea Tebasile

Kahlua in icecream - sounds divine.  I am putting off telling DH about the icecream recipes until I can actually have a go at them.  Please let us know how it goes, and post the recipe if it works well.

Now I feel like a white russian.  I'm sure the Kahlua is going off so better finish it.

Yum, yes please Cookie.  ;D

I'm still clearing out the freezer and today's meal was using salmon fillets. I made a recipe I have made before which is really nice called Spiced salmon with parsnip puree & orange butter sauce.  Such a simple recipe, but I did manage to make the parsnip puree in the TM, which after cooking was mixed with a bit of butter, salt & pepper, orange zest and just a tiny bit of cream.
Served with salad.  :)

I'm having a lovely time reading through all the pages of things people have made since the last time I was here.

This looks lovely, JulieO.  Do you think it would freeze well as a ready meal??

Julie your photos are truly inspirational. It means so much more when we can see the finished product being presented so beautifully.

We often have parsnip and carrot mashed together with a drop of butter and lots of freshly ground pepper.

Yum yum - that's one of my favourites.  A real nursery food.  I usually add swede or turnip too.  Love it!

You are so clever Mama Bel - being able to cook and talk at the same time.  I'm too busy talking to my machine, repeating the directions out loud, to be able to hold a conversation with a real person at the same time :P :P :P :P

That makes 2 of us!  :D  If anyone is in the kitchen talking to me, then the food takes about 3 times longer to prepare.  And even then I may well have made mistakes in how I made it!!  Multi-tasking .... what's that?  ;D

Today I made a smoothie which I had with blueberry waffles (made previously in TMX, but actually just popped in the toaster out of the freezer today).

Then I made a loaf of bread, loosely based on Bron's 'My Bread' recipe.  The dough was very strange this time - don't know why, I've made it loads of times.  The only things that were new in what I did where the wholegrain Spelt flour mixed with the white, almond oil rather than olive oil, and pumpkin seeds.  Can't really see why any of those would have upset it??  Anyway, the finished product is DELICIOUS - probably the best I've made yet, despite the weird dough.

After that I made a minestrone soup - left as was for DH, but pureed for myself (I can't stand lumpy soup for some reason.  Very embarassingly un-adult of me  :-[ :-)) )

Next was marrow and lemon jam.

I then began ILB's chocolate coconut slices, but discovered I didn't have any coconut  :o  I swear I had some ....  So have now texted DH to pick some up on his way home, so I can finish it off.

I had planned to make some lemon squares from the UK book, but have run out of sugar (sounds like I need to go shopping, doesn't it?!)

Yesterday I made piccallilli using (very roughly speaking) the recipe from the UK thermomix site (http://www.ukthermomix.com/recshow.php?rec_id=51) and some beetroot chutney which I converted from a traditional recipe.  We had the beetroot chutney with some roast goose last night - Delicious!  The potatoes and veggies we had with it were steamed in the TMX, and the gravy was made in the other jug.  I think I'm going to try Shrewsbury sauce from the UK book to have with the leftovers today.

The day before I made some raspberry jam from raspberries I had in the freezer, and some strawberry jam with strawberries from the local market.

I'm waiting on the sugar DH is bringing to make some sweetcorn relish.

First turned 3.6L of cream to butter.  Made one tub of garlic/herb butter which smells delish!  More butter to make yet.  I might make marscarpone and some ice-cream.  Really need to keep processing the dairy products whilst we have an excess and it's all fresh!

Now cooking this one from Bron - http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=890.0 to use up more milk.

Still have so, so, so many recipes to try.  I need 3 Thermomixes I think! ;)

Yesterday I did my chat-and-make trick again.  I made a batch of rice and almond milk and some cottage cheese whilst having a Transition Town meeting with a friend!  Since I get lots of visitors and don't do the sit-and-have-a-cuppa thing so well, I think it's a great idea to sit them with their cuppa at my breakfast bar whilst I TMX away. :)

I agree, Mama Bel!  I always like to keep cooking while I chat with visitors, and they never seem to mind.  At least you don't run out of things to talk about when you're cooking with a Thermomix - they've always got questions!  Of course, I do have to interrupt the conversation now and then when 'blitzing' something, but that's okay, they don't complain, especially if they get sorbet or something else nice once the noise stops!  :D

Haven't made much the last couple of days - sick kids (and me) and just didn't feel like it.  Today I've made braided wholemeal spelt bread and rolls, and a fruit smoothie, and still have to make rice milk, butter, blender cornbread (from whole maize grain) and Sweet 'n' Sour Bean stew.

No cooking for me for a while.
I'm off to sunny Brisbane, with my youngest, for a family wedding and a week of theme parks ( :P) and frizzy hair!!
