Thanks Wonder and Gert. I will add this to my recipe since buttermilk is not something I have in the house - usually.

I've just made Tenina's Date Apple and Crio Bru brownies, from her website.
Cant wait for them to cool down to taste them - they smell divine!

Today miss 8 & I made apple crumble, and as I was short on time I defrosted & baked some cookie dough so kids will still get their lunch box cookie fix!

That bread looks great Katie.
Courton after trying the same muffin recipe with buttermilk on the weekend I actually prefer the ones made with the milk/vinegar combination so will stick with that in the future. The actual buttermilk is also quite expensiv.
Jamberie, that's a lot of cooking. When will you be using the icing? I'm having to make a heap of cupcakes in a few weeks and was wondering it the icing could be made the day before.

wonder I made the butter cream icing, and put the leftover in the fridge.
It still piped well.
