Laura...moose mince...definitely won't see that here  :P  We do have kangaroo mince...but not for me thanks  ;)

Good  stuff Maddy. My uncles used to go more huntin' . They would hang the beast outside in the snow and cold for weeks before distributing it to the family. Was very welcome when money and meat were in shortage after WWII. We side to eat deer and other critters the uncles killed as well.

We also ate a lot of horse meat but don't tell NIkkit.

I'm pretty sure you can't buy moose meat here, this was hunted by my BFs dad.  It's really nice, a lot like beef. I have a harder time finding things to cook with the deer meat, which has a really strong taste.  When I was in Australia I saw kangaroo meat in stores and restaurants, it can't be so bad!  But I was too chicken to try it.

You really wanted to Hally!

Kangaroo is a very lean red meat that requires very little cooking is high in good proteins, low in fat and especially saturated fat and is full of vitamin B , iron and zinc.

Kangaroo mince makes a great no fat burger. The sausages are popular with visitors especially when they don't know they are made from kangaroo! I have made sausage rolls with  Kangaroo .

A small rump roast is great on the BBQ especially with an interesting sauce like plum and chilli. You can quickly stif fry it in most any way but trying to curry it once was a big chewy fail.

Just thinking about the curry, I wonder if kangaroo would be good in a slow cooker?  Must try it.

Thanks for all the pie filling ideas. Hope to make better ones next time cos my kiddos loved them.

INAID, steak is another type of food that I've got to master. Tried with rump steak, and it was a fail. Don't even know the best sauce to serve it with. Made a salsa sauce, and it was just ok. Did some initial research on cuts but never got around to trying again. My youngest son keeps reminding me to cook steak.

I don't always comment but BZB your food always looks desirable *sigh* ...so tasty. Your boys are spoilt rotten with your cooking

Awwww....thank you, CP xx

Gert,  I'll sit next to you.  Love tripe and had Black Pudding on toast this morning.
We do occasionally have Kangaroo.  Don't particularly like the flavour.

Yes I think kangaroo needs a sauce as it can be dry if not cooked quickly. Anything you would use for venison would be good.
