That's exactly why I want to cook as much as possible today Judy as I haven't had any time recently and it is nice to give guests home cooked meals. We are taking them to Margaret river over Easter so will have a few meals out there. Freezing my lasagna today and will take it with us on Friday so we have dinner for the first night. I am sure the supermarkets will be open so can buy fresh salad ingredients when we arrive. Looking forward to seeing them as it was 1987 when we last met.  :D

Gert, I understand about the shopping, I really cannot go if I wanted to as the car has broken down and won't be fixed until after Easter so I guess I will have to clean out the freezer and pantry.  I too have way too much stuff in there.

Frozzie, have often wondered what the hemp seeds were like?
MF, sound like a busy day planned, hope you have a lovely time with UK friends.

Have just started some bread will make some custard for icecream and goodness knows what else.  Hot cross buns later in week.

They are yummy.. I would explain the taste to be a mix between a nutty taste and sesame seed?? Anyway very tasty and high in omega 3s?? I think.. We put thrm in homemade raw chocolates but great in salads and with veg etc.. Im excited to experiment with them :)

Frozzie if I were not on my no shopping trip I would buy some to try.

Emme you can join me in cleaning out the freezer and pantry. Sorry about the car though..

I have found some interesting  things in the pantry including 2 cans of water chestnuts I thought were tuna. I know. I bought one for a Jamie dish I think then I forgot which one it was so forgot about the can. Then I rediscovered the Jaimie thing and so bought a can and now I can't remember again.  Wonder what else. I can use them in. At least one can!!!.

Yup,the recipes I have found of Jaime's use cabbage and that I don't have but I do have cauliflower so a stir fry it will be tomorrow.

Emme, that is a nuisance about the car. Kim where did you get the hemp seeds from please? They sound rather good. I love sesame seeds.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Hi cookie.. From my local coop.. After a workshop we asked if she could get them in and she did.. Apparently they arent too hard to find.. At organic shops most likely or maybe health food stores???

Gert i use a stuffing recipe with bread butter and water chestnuts with seasoning baked until crisp in the oven, cooled then stuff the bird.. Yum..

Good on you Gert, i need to clear my pantry too.  Have extended family for lunch on Sunday so did have to shop, 16-20 people coming!
MF have a lovely time with your friends.  It will be beautiful in Margaret River, hopefully not too busy.
Hemp seeds sound interesting, i like the idea of a coop but havent herd of any around here.
I have a chicken in AF, reduced to $3.47 for an organic free range so couldnt leave it there. Ave rubbed morrocan seasoning and lemon oil on it. Made a bowl of nuts and bolts too.  Thinking Alyce's vege pasties fr dinner.

Cookie, You will find hemp seeds in health food stores.  They are lnot allowed to be sold for human consumtpion in Australia so you will find them labled for use in making body scrub.

Cooking today - only more muffins and fruit breads (banana, apple and zucchini - not a fruit, I know) for school holiday snacks. :)
