I bought 2kg of ricotta for $4 (short shelf life) so have made ricotta gnocchi, lime ricotta cake, ricotta and spinach cannelloni and DH is using some in his truffled rabbit lasagne (yes, his imagination runs riot sometimes, he's rolling pasta at the moment). I'll see how much is left - might make some little pies with filo pastry tomorrow. Trying to avoid making sweet things with it.

Today baked pumpkin bread,  which contained wholemeal flour, mashed pumpkin and ground up pumpkin seeds.   Then a made a pineapple fruit cake, ( posted) with pineapple I found in the freezer.  Not quite enough so added apple that I had bottled.   Both baked in a new tin I bought on sale in Ballarat.
For dinner tonight,  eggs, (from our chookies ), bacon, brought back from SA, silverbeet from garden,  and grilled tomatoes.

We have that rat species over in the West too Chookie. I can see why they have been sampling, it looks delicious.

Today we had DS and GF and  her parents for dinner, so made Chookies naan again,( I actually forgot I started it and went out for a nice walk to see something climbing out of the jug on my return- quick reminder) niccos butter chicken, Teninas chickpea and cashew curry, no fuss rolls to go with soup MIL bought. Apple pie and custard. All made in thermie, and quick and tasty. Love it.

What's that you're cooking the naan on Denise?  The relationship must be serious if you have the future(?) in-laws coming for a meal ;)

It's about the size of a large pizza. I make smallish naan, odd shaped as you can see, I like them oblongish but some were "different".  The photo made them look a bit weird. They weren't as puffy as the photo looked. It really is worth making your own naan.
