Astarra - could I bother you for the recipe for your gf/df lemon and blueberry cakes??

JD - stocking the freezer of another is a wonderful gift IMO.  You're an absolute blessing for your Mum as well as for Geoff!

No probs goldfish, it is on this blog http://retromummy.com/2014/08/24/lemon-blueberry-cake-gluten-free/ and I just used rice milk for the milk, and nuttelex for the butter, works a treat.  :D

Lovely looking tomatoes CC.
Today I made mini quiches, salmon and spinach roulade and corned beef for dinner.

I made a strawberry cake that wasn't very successful so I turned it into a trifle for dessert tonight. Just perfect for the cold, blustery weather we are having!  I had better do some soup too I think.

I also made some berry jam. It just wouldn't evaporate and was splashing out of the bowl, so I eventually finished it off on the stove. After all that the taste isn't brilliant either.  :-\

That's a pity Cookie. Your trifle looks delicious  - I love how you didn't waste the strawberry cake.
I made a loaf of bread, a herb topping for some baked salmon and a chopped salad this evening. I really missed my machine when it was away being repaired.

Disappointing having days like that Cookie, must have been this awful weather.  Trifle made up for it though.

Yesterday I made a Vienna Loaf and Irish Brown Yeast Bread.   Had a phone call in the middle of the rising and the yeast bread flowed over the tin.  Didn't alter the taste tho. :P

Today a batch of Rough Puff Pastry to make into little pasties tomorrow.

Cold and raining so good day for cooking. Bottling some apples in the microwave and then using the skins and cores to make apple and raspberry jelly.  Also some Chinotto jam.   Also boiling up the Turkey and chicken bones from Sunday and making stock.
CC, those toms look beautiful , not like the red bullets we buy at the moment.   If you have any green ones left at the end,  I have posted a cake and salad using green toms.  I think the cake recipe was originally from ES.

Love Isi's easy peasy Pasta Bake. Yummy, use-whatever-in-hand and no precooking of pasta. Today's version has tuna, carrot, onion, tomato, chilli and feta. School lunch plus afternoon tea, sorted 😄
