DJ,  I have posted instructions,  here I think.  But certainly on my Blog.  You need those jars that have the little built in seal in the lid. It is so easy and so handy to have a small quantity of fruit available. It also saves freezer space.  Each of these jars took 3 minutes in the Microwave.

Here's the link to Chookie's method on her blog, 2nd one down.  JD

ILB great to see you back on the forum.  Condolences to you and your family, it so heart wrenching to loose a sibling and turns your world upside down. Look after yourself.

Yesterday, Berry and Apple Jam.  Pushed it through a strainer to remove pips.

Love the preserves Chookie.

Yesterday I made some very rustic looking pasties, some medium size ones and some little ones to have when DD comes with the children.  Today's effort was a vienna loaf in between mopping up the water from the washing machine.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Chookie, I was just reading your blog post on the apples and I'm interested that you put the lids in the microwave. I thought they would react. I'm hopeless getting seals when I try preserving, it just never seems to work. I think I'm always scared of burning myslef when tightening the lids so don't do them properly, Do you use the microwave method to sterilise all your jars?

I was always the same as you Wonder, metal in microwaves :o  I now sterilize my jars and lids (very loosely screwed on) in the microwave and it works.

Great pasties & loaf Margaret.  Good luck with your water problems.

Chookie you would make more preserves than anyone I know, mind you I bet you give a lot of it away  ;)

Thanks chookie this is a great method of preserving fruit and veggies.
I now use my steam oven which is just as quick.
I also buy new lids as they are available in various sizes and are quite cheap and at least i know they can be sterilized.
I love pickles, jam and preserves!

Yes Chookie I love the idea of preserving small quantities in a jar.  Thank you again, you have inspired me in so many ways.
Margaret, those pasties look delicious.  How annoying to have all these water problems. Hopefully this is the last of it.

Yes Judy. ,I give most away.  6 of the nine bottles already gone.  Each bottle only cost $1, plus the cost of gas.  It is really nice.  Good flavour and colour.
Boo, I don't do veggies as I think they have to be processed twice.   Do you do this?
Wonder, I don't know why the lids. don't arc.  Foil does.  Yes I steralise the jars for the jam , jellies and pickles in the Microwave.
Mab,  nice baking.
Bedlam,  that is very kind of you,  but it is my pleasure to share.
