Sounds like a feast Jo!
My DD made worms  with the kids, she set jelly( made with guava juice) in straws with the concertina bit  filled, then made first with Oreos. (From Pinterest ).  They looked too realistic for me, kids loved them though.

Jo, I saw an excellent display of bunches of flowers in Halloween colours at my local Foodland this morning.  I did think of buying a bunch to take into Morpeth but at $24 a bunch decided I could eat a lot of food for that money.  I should have taken a photo of them.

Eeep, $24! I would have left them there too.

All the prep is basically done now. I have scrapped the coleslaw for now....No room in the fridge for another bowl! But only takes a few seconds if needed later. The house is even reasonably clean and tidy. Now to sit back with a cold drink while we wait for the invasion.

It sounds fun Jo.  I walked into a decorated Morpeth and there's Geoff wearing a wizzard's hat  :D :D  It really suited him and he had it on all day until they put him to bed.  He was in great spirits today.  Afternoon tea was served with 'spiders' and 'mummies'.  Next big event for decoration will be Melbourne Cup Day and they are starting that tomorrow morning.

It's lovely how they get involved Judy.

I've had several Trick or Treaters at the door so far.

It was such a lot of fun.  Hardly any of the spooky food got eaten!!  The adults were very impressed with our decorations and food, but the kids just wanted to eat sweets and run around like lunatics, so that's basically what they did.
We only had 3 groups of T&Ters, but by the time the last ones came, the kids at the party had eaten the entire bowl of sweets (two huge bags of body parts lollies, plus a big bag of lollipops!).

Another friend brought "ghost" strawberries (dipped in white choc, which milk choc dots for eyes and mouth) and troll boogers (green colored popcorn).

No need for cooking today - we will be eating up the chicken wings and sausages with the last of the kumara salad, although I might actually make that coleslaw I didn't do yesterday to go with it.

People just couldnt believe how many themed things I had made and didn't really believe I had made it all since thursday after school - the magic of tmx!!  It was all so much fun for me - we really should host more dinner parties!!

The more sweets they ate the more they ran around like lunatics too I bet Jo.   I don't think kids ever appreciate all the trouble we go to for them, thank goodness there were adults there who did.  Happy for you that you have enough food to have a day off in the kitchen and that you really enjoying putting this on for everyone.
