No different than the stove Chookie, except it didn't make my kitchen hot :D :D   Just heated it up on high to 200oC(put a thermometer in it to keep a check on the temp) and put a baking dish with water in it below the top grid. The larger loaf I cooked for 40 minutes, turned out and cooked a further 5 minutes.  The smaller cob loaf I cooked for 30 minutes then just a few minutes out of the container to crisp up it's bottom.  The tops were getting quite brown so I turned the heat down to low for the last 5 minutes. Had a few slices with out lunch and DH asked me if I had made it - I made rolls yesterday so I guess he didn't think I would bake 2 days in a row. It was isi's normal bread recipe, the first one she posted.  That works for me so I'm happy to do it all the time.
I just do a white loaf with about 2 cups of wholemeal flour in there for a bit of fibre, no seeds in the dough, only on top. DH is not a lover of bread like me so if he says it is good, it is very, very good ;D ;D ;D

JD,  thanks for that info. on cooking the bread in the weber.   Good idea when it is hot.   I can congratulate you on the way you are venturing out with the bread making.   You have really made it when this happens. ;D ;D ;D

Jd - do you have any total fire ban issues over there with hot days and barbies?  Certainly a problem here

Thanks Chookie - I owe everything I do in the kitchen these days to this forum which inspires me so much. I have become a very willing slave to my TMX  :-)) :-)) :-))  I should have said my weber has a gas conversion fitted - I just presume everyone has one but when I think about it, no they don't.  It is the only way to go as far as I am concerned - quick, clean and easy.  So in answer to your question Thermomixer,  fire ban days are not off limits to gas BBQ's as long as they are used in a clear & safe area.
I can't speak for the rules in the country areas though, this is just the city & suburbs I am referring to.

I was wondering how you could go about being so specific with the temperature. Now I know. We have an old fashioined one with heat beads.

I had a friend who passed away 3 years ago.  She was the best cook and we loved going up to their place for dinner parties.  The last meal she and her husband served up to us was a rack of veal done in their gas weber.  We were just sitting around talking, having a drink before dinner when she told her DH he could light the weber.  I was thinking, boy what time are we going to eat ??? ???  Around 30 minutes later we were sitting down to a lovely meal with melt-in-the mouth veal. I decided there and then I had to get a gas weber so her DH went out and got it for me and then set it up as well.  Whenever I serve racks of anything done in it, our guests are very impressed and the very best ever was a standing rib roast which I did for my girls and their husbands.  The boys said it was the best piece of meat they had ever tasted and was cooked to perfection - the piece of meat cost me $60 and I'm going back 5 years now but it was worth it just to see the boys in raptures. As one couple live in Melbourne, it isn't very often we all get together.  Poor DH thought the leftovers looked good for the next day but unfortunately for him the lads went back for seconds.

So Cookie what I am getting at here is you would never regret buying the conversion kit and having an instant outdoor oven.  No relying on men being around to light it - we don't need them with this gas one.

Sounds good. We have a covered barbecue that we have on natural gas out on our alfresco area. DH is chief cook there.

Not a BBQ person - but if I can get a gas conversion then I could handle that !!!  Thanks

Baking bread in a covered barbecue, gas or charcoal,  is also very nice using a covered cast iron  (plain or enameled) Dutch oven.

Simply bake it covered for half of the estimated time, uncover for the final half.

This method is excellent for the "slack" doughs that are wetter and essentially "no-knead."

This link is to an extensive discussion but on the linked page you can scroll down and see two different pots used, one is a short way down, the other is just past the middle of the page.

Well guys, Isi's rolls are rising at this very moment in time! Will post review, couldnt work out which recipe is favourite, the easy rolls or the very normal bread, so have printed them both and will try the normal bread over the weekend.
Am now making more veggie stock as mine has run out, has lasted me 6 months! How fab is that! So tempted to lick the spoon, no no no!  ;D ;D ;D :-)) :-)) :-))

I've just made the base for green tea ice cream, using the vanilla ice cream recipe in the TM cookbook, and adding a couple of spoons of matcha. Waiting for it to cool and then I can freeze it! :-)

Isi, another huge success! Thankyou! I used 400g of plain flour and 100g of wholemeal. My DD2 kept saying, Mummy they look like wholemeal, very brown, but I said Don't be silly, its just Isi's special recipe, and well......all I can say is if Miss Fusspot ate them, they are fantastic! I had one with soup, beautiful, and very quickly, hastly popped the rest into the freezer, so no more temptations, tonight anyway.  ;)But whilst DH wasn't looking :o :o :o I pinched a chunk of his! :-)) :-)) :-)) Excellent! Will be trying the other bread recipes too Isi, so easy!
Well made the Veggie stock, and decided it was a shame to wash away the leftovers in the bottom/on blades down the plughole, so quickly popped in lentils and more veggies, and made lovely lentil dish soup/stew for tomorrow. JD, you would have been proud of me, waste not, want not!! ;) ;) ;) I know you guys are sweltering but if somebody fancies a really easy vegetarian lentil dish (very thick and wintery) just let me know, a real throw it all in and leave for 35 mins!
