CC, I don't think GC are much fussed about the decoration, as long as it tastes good.  Well, that is what I think as I'm not much good at the decoration.
Also made 12 large Sausage rolls for the Gardeners morning tea.
Made some chocolate chip and almond biscuits.  Absolute disaster. Fell to bits. Think I will use them as a base for the Swedish frozen cheese cake.

Yesterday gave the gardeners Cream of Celery soup and a Raspberry Jam coconut slice for morning tea.  I noticed the young gardener dipping the slice in the soup.  No accounting for taste.

Interesting combination - coconut slice with a garnish of celery soup.  :-\

Are the gardeners working slowly so they'll be there longer to receive all this lovely food Chookie ;D

Denise, Louis will love his cake no matter how it looks (it sounds like you, Chookie and me should go to decorating lessons  ;))  It's the thought that counts.  Happy birthday to the little 3 year old.

Judy, this garden has taken on a life of its own.  I havetosaythat the Gardeners are good in that they consult along the way.  If they think of something that will make life easier for me, then they suggest it.  Often making more work for them.
Today I made them pumpkin and Celeriac soup with sausage rolls. It is very cold and although they are working hard it is still cold and damp. It rained on them twice today.
CC, I also can't believe your GS is 3. Time goes just too fast. Kisses and cuddles from us.

Chookie if I was your gardeners I would go very slow. Not sure if I'd like coconut slice and celery soup though.
CC I'm sure your cake is quite beautiful. Louis will love it because you made it for him. He must be gorgeous at 3.

May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

That 3 years has gone very fast CC. I'm sure you're are doing yourself an injustice - I bet the cake looks lovely if it's anything like his 1st birthday cake.

Cookie, you make me laugh.  The main gardener said his wife has food envy. She sent me an email thanking me for looking after them in this horrid weather.  She is an excellent cook and bakes biscuits for one of the local shops as well as having won an ABC recipe competition.   Something that I wouldnt even think of doing.
Today I have baked 2 lots of Vienna bread and an Apple Cake Tart.  The new elements the oven is hotter and I will have to get used to it.

First lot of bread sticks stuck so baked another lot. It is the egg wash that dribbles down the inside of the tin. I lined the tin for the second lot.
