I had good intentions today, but ended up cooking 'O'.
Things kept getting in the way, tomorrow is another day.
Lovely looking and sounding food everyone.

My girls don't like the cacao nib shortbread. I'll make another batch with straight forward choc bits/pieces for them. But my husband and I really like them!

I've been trying to decide what to put in my hampers this year so today I did a few trial runs.
Christmas stars with crushed up peppermint candy canes in the centre. Nice but won't be doing them.
A half mix of gingerbread men, a recipe from the recipe community. I'll probably do these and decorate them.
3 jars of Tenina's lemon curd. (I've given one to a friend.) Not sure about this as it's not very thick, more like sauce. Is it supposed to be thick??
Plus a pot of pumpkin soup using up some old veg from the fridge for lunch.

I have Shortbread & Gingerbread men on my list but that will be a week or 2 away.
Today I've made some Parsnip 'rice' in preparation for making some Sushi tomorrow. The parsnip is grated in the Thermie and mixed with Tahini, Soy sauce & Rice wine vinegar. Then used as you would normal sushi rice. It tastes good. I also cooked some quinoa which I'll use as a sushi rice replacement. Hopefully I will remember to take a pic tomorrow.

My lemon curd usually comes out thick.I love the stuff so don't make it too often.
Great cooking Katj.I'll be around for dinner tomorrow

Nice cacao shortbread. I have found my children don't like the taste of cacao in anything, regardless of if I tell them or not. I think they are programmed to like the sweetness of chocolate chips

The sushi looks good Katj. We occasionally have sushi. DD usually directs it as she has had it in Japan.
We had 4kg of mushrooms given to us very early this morning. ( I was still trying to pretend that I was asleep). So far I've made mushroom soup for lunch, mushroom topping and I have mushroom sauce in the thermomix at the moment. Tonight is Mushroom and feta strudel and tomorrow night steak and mushroom pies, probably with mushroom soup.
The soup looks very dark as the recipe called for button. I shrooms and these are field mushrooms. It still tasted nice.
The recipe is from the EDC.
