Made a batch of Orange Squash syrup from the original UK EDC and a batch of cheese crackers from My Thermie Rules. http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/baking-savoury-recipes/4-ingredient-cheese-crackers/148482

I don't have a lot of freezer space, so I'm trying to use up some leftovers before I do more cooking. We had a mystery dish tonight, I was racking my brains trying to remember what it was, and eventually worked it out. It was Moroccan Lamb with cous cous, the recipe adapted from here. However, the photograph that I have looks different, I somehow managed to form them into little meatballs cooked in the sauce. It was really good after we worked it out.

I think many of us have mystery dishes occasionally Sarah.

My DH bought a heap of mushrooms and lovely red plums, also 2 bags of slightly squishy bananas at the Spud Shed today. I've made 2 double batches of Mushroom Sauce from the EDC. I had both Termites going with a double batch in each. Then we stewed up a heap of the plums and cut up heaps of the bananas to freeze.

I've got to take a step back and either make only just enough for a meal, or make something that will go into the refrigerator - I simply cannot fit anything else into the freezer. That sounds great, but our freezer is just a hotchpotch of containers and you can't even tell what's what, so it could definitely be better. I have freezer envy for a side by side pair - my dream is to have dedicated shelves for things like meat, leftovers, ingredients (frozen fruit, vegetables etc ready to use in recipes) etc. I want to be able to open it and see that I'm low on something instead of ratting through it.

I made some chocolate custard off the chip last night, then put some leftovers into little containers in the fridge, and the girls had them after school - they loved it. I've given it to them a few times and they haven't been that excited, but finally I've broken through, and they'll let me whizz up a batch of that instead of buying the rubbish ones that I do occasionally for a treat. I'm happy to make that for them and have it ready for an after school treat.

I made a tuna mornay today with the Skinnymixer's healthy carbonara sauce. Unfortunately, I felt that the flavour was just a bit too strong, everyone loved it which was good, and I love cauliflower. But it was loaded with garlic and onion, but you simply didn't get that flavour at all, it was dulled down by the cauliflower. No-one at home realises what is in it, and they're happily eating it, but I miss really tasting the onion and garlic, which I love. I will have to be careful about how much I use the next time I make it, I think I may have gone overboard.

We have a side-by-side fridge/freezer combination. In the freezer, all the meat is on one shelf/basket, cooked meals on another and fragile items like sweet buns, ice cream etc on another shelf again. The baskets take up the entire space on each shelf so there's no wasted space and everything is generally easily accessible. We're not wasting any food once  it's in the freezer. Unfortunately, we are still throwing out some fruit/veggies from the fridge though.

Yesterday I made a batch of Plum Paste that turned out so thick that I had to melt it in the microwave today and then add more water to thin it down.

Also made some of Megan's Pizza Sauce using more of my tomatoes.  The sauce is very thin so wondering if it's because I used fresh tomatoes and not tinned ones.  I cooked the sauce for another 10 mins to try and reduce the amount of liquid and that helped a little.  I have put the sauce into zip lock bags and they are in the freezer.

I will be glad to see the end of these tomatoes  ;D  they just keep coming and coming.

I have another Classic Loaf of bread in the oven at the moment.  This sunk when I took the cling film off after the second rise so had to wait until it rose again.  I'm still on L plates with SD bread so not sure why this happened so any help wiill be appreciated.

This has definately not been my most successful day of cooking. :)
