Great work everyone.
Kim your cake looks amazing!
I need to make soup, DH takes it for lunch every day. Today it is Quirky J's Tomato Bean soup without the meat balls.
A lovely soup indeed, made it many times. I made Kale/basil pesto yesterday, so it will be Salmon on a bed of zucchini noodles tossed with the pesto. A few extra veg in the side.

That sounds very nice Katj. We had zoodles with our dinner last night. Roasted sweet potato cubes, haloumi and zoodles with a light dressing. Very tasty.

This morning I made this lovely 'Swedish cardamom cinnamon bread' from the blog below.  I did it a little different.

After processing the cardamom and flour I removed that and made the cinnamon butter, scraped as much of that as I could from the bowl, then proceeded on with the recipe.  I wanted any of the cinnamon butter left in the bowl to combine with the dough  ;D

I found not warming the milk made it take around 90 mins before the dough had risen enough to continue, even after putting into a turned off oven.  I've made a note to warm the milk, butter and yeast next time first in the bowl to see if that makes a difference.

Lovely dough to work with and the end result was just perfect in flavour and sweetness for us, though I did reduce the sugar to 20g in the dough.  Also next time I'm going to make into 2 smaller logs and freeze one unbaked.  As it was I cut this one in half and have frozen one half as there's only the 2 of us.
It would look very impressive serving to visitors with a cuppa.  We both loved this.  :)

Julie I think yours looks better than the original. I wasn't aware of that blog, I will have to keep an eye on it. Thanks.

Wow Julie, beautiful. Photo certainly better than original.
Today I cooked 24 SD crumpets, 8 bread rolls and a loaf of grain bread.
I cooked the SD crumpets on the flat iron plate I bought for the Miele grill. Looks like this will be great. As the grill was cooling I placed a wire rack over the plate and put the tray of rolls on this to prove. Good.

Gee Chookie, I can't keep up with you, puts me to shame  ;D

Thank you regarding the bread.  I recommend trying it, it's really lovely.  :D

If we were all neighbours, I doubt we'd get much done with all the gass bagging (talking).  ;D

Kim and Julie, both look fantastic!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

I made some Chocolate Chip Biscuits today. Something fairly ordinary for a change. I added about 25g of cacao nibs with the chocolate chips.

I don't think there would be too many that would not like choc chip biccies, yours look nice Cookie.  I like cacao nibs in biscuits too, especially Tenina's shortbread ones, really nice.  :)

Thanks Megan and Kimmy.  :D

We love Tenina's Shortbread ones too. I'm waiting, not so patiently, for her new book.
