A couple of weeks ago DD and I shared in a bakeitbox. They send you all the ingredients and instructions to do a specific cake. She enjoys different challenges like this. Here is the completed cake. A little rough around the edges but I think DD learnt a lot from doing it. I was mainly the dishwasher.
It is a 6 inch cake and 4 layers. It has melted chocolate over the buttercream icing.

Cookie, that cake looks lovely!! I love baking cakes but dont have many people at home to eat it so need to give away :)
I would love to try some challenging ones whilst on Maternity leave (if I get time ;) )

Great cooking everyone.

No much happening in my kitchen at the moment I don't seem to have any interest in cooking.

Astarra you have been busy. I imagine growing girls need lots of food.

Thank you all for the kind remarks re the cake. DD took it to work. She texted and said everyone loved it. Personally she found it extremely rich and quite sweet. She said she would do it again but use a less rich chocolate cake.

Margaret, don't stress. Your mojo will return.

Cookie the cut cake does look very decadent.
Astarra, cooking up a storm as usual for your large family.
Mab, I've had no interest in cooking for months now - hoping it will return.
Made 100 of Judy's, caramelised onion,  mushroom and fetta tarts for a fund raiser. We had a movie night at the Boolaroo cinema (a very quaint building) watched Love and Friendship and then had supper to raise funds for 3 Angels Nepal Orphanage. A very successful night that raised over $3000.

I made shortcrust pastry to make Quiche Lorraine for dinner. I also made a batch of Mayonnaise, then without washing the bowl I made Coleslaw.

Had some vegetable samosa filling left over and made it into rolls.
Gluten free carrot cake. It is a CWA recipe that you must use to enter into competitions. It didn't rise much. Will see how it tastes. I may end up switching to the lemon sour cream cake.

A brilliant idea for your rolls Mich.

I have a loaf of semi SD rising at the moment. I'm having trouble with my everyday bread at the moment. It rises to a certain point and then won't rise anymore. I don't think it is the yeast as other doughs rise well. It may be an unhappy batch of Laucke flour. I'm not really sure. Quite possibly it's me. The bread is still more than edible, just not the usual rise.

The carrot cake is pretty ordinary. It's ok, moist enough but still very crumbly. Have much nicer recipes that I've made.
Shame we can't make our own recipe.

Marina, I have been making my own LSA ever since I've had a thermomix (7 years).
I sometimes add Goji berries, but only half the quantity of goji as that of everything else. We sprinkle a Tablespoon on our muesli or porridge, also use it in muffin recipes.
