Bread sticks, SD.  Tested readiness in cup of water and used new folding method.  Will see when cut. They rose in oven. If the starter isn’t ready, that is when you get a flat top.

I'm the opposite of you Judy, I'm not overfond of large air holes, however if I achieve them I feel proud of myself. Your breads look great Chookie. I will look forward to your new method.
I used the floating test for my rye starter the other day-it was amazing. It floated beautifully.

I have an oatmeal loaf rising. I made a heap of butter yesterday and saved the buttermilk. I wanted to make a specifically buttermilk loaf, so went searching in my books. Great fun.
I also want to make a strawberry cake, would you believe when I checked the recipe it also uses buttermilk, so I have some defrosting at the moment.

SD bread stick.  Judy you love holes because they soak up all the goodies you place on top.

It all looks delicious. I can’t remember if I posted my SD loaf and naan from the other day. Sorry if I have.

Some great bread making happening ladies.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I strained some Kefir and made a soft light cheese. I mixed it with a small tin of tuna and some philly cheese and made a dip.  Nice.
I used the water from the cheese to make bread.

No cooking here today. Yesterday I made a Strawberry Cake from the Queen Baking site.  It's quite nice. I dropped it as I turned it out.  DD and DH enjoyed the broken bits.
