Ok so I too have a Medler tree , there are a lot on there ! Never thought about bashing them in the TMX . All the recipes had so much sugar I have to say I haven’t made anything with them . Yesterday I also made minestrone soup , all gone now .
A quick question, I made Dani Valant’s passata , can I store it in the cupboard or fridge , I sterilised the jars ? Wishing to make more and working out if I am able to store it .

k Atie, use the Medlars as you would to make Apple a Jelly.  Not as flavoursome but good as a glaze on cakes or buns. Need more biscuits, perhaps Tahini biscuits from my Blog.

KAtie I always store my home made passata and tomato paste in the freezer.

Too hot to cook here today.

So I need to put  the passata in the fridge ?
We had a salmon and potato tart for lunch . Normally fish and chips at our local Good Friday appeal fundraiser, seems strange not to be there .

Cookie, is it normal to be so hot at this time of the year?
K Atie, when in doubt fridge or freezer. Jam and bottled fruit, unopened sauce and pickles,  in pantry. I don’t bottle veg.  Too dangerous.
Still need to bake biscuits.  Too much time on the phone yesterday.
Yesterday followed my Hot X Bun recipe exactly. ( don’t often do this). They were good.
Didn’t follow the method for the Brioche Bun recipe and they didn’t rise as much as they should.
Lesson learnt.

Yum. More Hot Cross Buns needed here tomorrow. I saw the folks down the road this morning and they mentioned how lovely they were. I will share again.
No cooking here, just baking my rye SD.

Your buns look fine unglazed Chookie, when I tried making them a couple of times I didn’t like the stickiness of the glaze.

Only made 15 Hot XBuns.  Did a drop off run to the neighbours.  Looks like I will have to make more.
No baking today.

KAtie that platter does sound nice.
Cookie, we love Butternut pumpkins.  It is the one veggie I always have on hand.  I often roast a whole one, cut into cubes and then just use it for soup, add to risotto or pizza, or just mash.
Yesterday made cookies Vienna loaf.  One of our favourites. Also curry puffs and sausage rolls for GC.
