Judy, I'd be in such a pickle if it wasn't for DH.  I love making cakes and biscuits but eat very little and no one to really hand them off to, so I'm glad my DH has a sweet tooth!

Those mags will be something to look forward to each month, good for you!  :D

I had a nice day making bits and pieces.  I firstly started off making coconut yoghurt which is now incubating until later tonight where I will then transfer to the fridge to chill overnight.

I then made a nice sounding granola from a KitchenAid recipe (no gadget needed) which didn't have much sweetener added at all (and no oats).  Turned out really good.  Made about 4 cups.

I then made Alyce Alexander's rhubarb & rosewater compote (minus the rosewater as not a big fan) but also has apples in it.  It was so quick and easy and tastes really nice.  Will be used as a dollop on porridge/breakfasts, rice pudding etc.  I usually make one in my elec pressure cooker that has rhubarb, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in it which is quite delicious, but am quite happy with this one.

The granola photo is the only one okay to post.  The sunlight on the front verandah was flickering because of the wind in the trees so it was hard for my camera to focus  :(

I love the sound of your cooking JulieO. Thank goodness for DH and DD as they plough through my baking.
Judy I get a Diabetic magazine each month. It is much cheaper to have a subscription. I've made a lot out of it and they have always been nice.

That’s nice to know cookie, thank you.
Julie that granola looks so delicious. I like having bits and pieces cooking days.

Julie, that Granola looks delicious.  Thanks for the lovely photo.
I also sometimes buy the Diabeties magazine.  I like many of the recipes.
Has anyone cooked Jamie Oliver's Chicken cooked in milk?

Malt loaf looks good.
I haven't made Jamie Oliver's recipe but have made Nigella's buttermilk roast chicken. It was very nice.

Made Skinnymixers Greek lemon chicken soup Avgolemono for lunch ! Very nice . I did the quick version but varied it by simmering onions garlic carrots etc then addd water and chicken ( changed the setting to reverse and spoon ,with tenderloins added fresh corn kernels too. Totally recommend this one in her new A touch of Greek .

Sounds nice Katie.  Skinnymixers new book is proving very popular.  Am seeing lots being made from it. What I've made has been really nice too.  :D

Nice malt loaf Cookie, does it have choc chips in it?

It’s mixed dried fruit JulieO. I soaked it in tea for a while before I made it.

I also made some yoghurt using the ferment programme on the TM 5. It’s in the fridge now, so I will be interested to see what it’s like. It was a recipe from TM Essentials.

Nice to see reports of different things being cooked.
Made lemon butter yesterday.  Jar for GD and some for me to make Lemon Feather Cake for visitors on Friday.
Need to make more biscuits as tin nearly empty.
Yesterday I made a disaster.  Was supposed to be a healthy Chocolate crackle slice.  By the time I had fiddled with the recipe it turned into to a very unhealthy and a very expensive slice.  Ral is eating it with a spoon. It has 300 g of Lindt chocolate in it.

Lots of good cooking going on.
I had another attempt at jam drops using Chookies surprise biscuit recipe. They certainly turned out better than last time but still a bit flat. I used a tiny scoop this time and got 37 biscuits so they were the right size to start with. Reread the recipe and I didn't put the oven on fan forced. I also read a tip to put them in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking. Will attempt another lot this afternoon.

Michele, they look good .  I think you are being too fussy.  However, for not so flat, add 50 g more flour or coconut.
I made Tahini biscuits this morning.  Turned out extra crispy.
