love pistachios cookie, which book/website did you get the recipe? Sounds like a healthy thing?

Don't worry CreamPuff - they don't taste 'healthy', they're really, really yummy!!!  ;D

They sure don't taste healthy, but they are  to a degree.

Great photo.

mmn looks great  :D think i will need to invest in some rapadura sugar also as its popping up in quite a few recipes. the medjool dates - are they just the fresh dates you buy in the supermarket?

CP63, I used dried dates and they worked fine.

cookie i bought some fresh dates today and found the receipt, it says medjool. might have to buy pistachios that have already been shelled because it takes so long to shell them and hurts my fingers  :-))

I cheated too and bought shelled ones. The dried dates I bought were really lovely and almost as good as fresh ones, I snacked on them as I cooked.

I made the Coconut Black Eyed Soup from the email newsletter that I received some time ago.  I'm sorry to say it's not very nice, practically tasteless and if DH doesn't want it to take to work then the almost 2 litres will be thrown away.   :-))

I'm off to make a  toasted cheese sandwich.  >:(

Don't recall having seen that recipe JulieO - what a pity it was so bad, it looks good  ??? Not seeing the ingredients, it is hard to advise if there is anything you could add to improve the flavour but you are such a good cook that, if there was something, you would have already thought of it anyway.  Maybe add a can of tuna, thicken it and pour it over pasta?

Thanks Judy, I think I was just annoyed with having spent the time and money on buying ingredients and it turning out like it did.
I should know to stick to forum member's recipes or just convert more of my own for a better result.  :P

JulieO,  I know how you feel,  a waste of time and ingredients.   Today I made 2 lots of Choc fudgy wudgy cookies.  One lot without the nuts so that the grand kids can take them to school.  Also made VHJ's Thai sweet potato and lentil soup.  Delicious for this cold weather.   Saw a recipe for English Muffins using a sour dough base, that needed to be started the day before.  So have begun this recipe and will post it if it is OK.

Those pistachios bars look good,
Shame about the soup - maybe needs some extra spices?

Today made a loaf of bread containing,  soaked grains,  LSA and white bread flour.  Made a Self Saucing Banana Butterscotch Pud,  have posted.  Might have to make some vegie concentrate to make the French onion dip.  Don't really like the concentrate,  but my daughter does. so won't go to waste.
