I made the Family Chicken Galette from Cookido today and added some extra vegetables and a little bit of cheese on top.  I found it to be rather time consuming and would do it a little differently next time.

I find that with a lot of Cookidoo recipes Mab. Those that we like I make again but do it my way.
I decided to stew some nectarines this morning. then I went outside and forgot about them. I could smell them but didn't realise it was me that was burning something. DH said they could be called caramelised, but they are worse than that. Now I have a burnt pot to clean. I usually do my fruit in the thermomix but decided I wanted them left fairly whole this time.

What a shame, were they your own nectarines, Cookie?

You could probably kick yourself cookie, not only did the nectarines end up a mess but now you have the terrible job of cleaning the pan.

Oh hell Cookie. I have burnt a few things lately. Hate a burnt pot. If you want the nectarines whole, could you steam them in the TMX. ?
Need to cook in SC today as. Out in the morning and in garden in Afternoon. Corned beef sounds good.

I hadn't thought of steaming the nectarines, thanks. I used Mr Google and put .50% water and 50% vinegar into the pot and brought it to the boil. a lot of the burnt stuff came off then. Then a little elbow grease and its back to normal. I stewed some plums this morning but put Siri, Google and a timer on so that I wouldn't burn them.
This morning I made a large loaf of seeded bread. It looks quite good. It all rose very quickly as its 37 at 12 and rising to 39.

I made another 5 jars of tomato relish this morning and roasted 2 large trays of tomatoes with onion, garlic & herbs.  I will put these in the freezer to use during the year.

Cookie, glad you managed to clean the pot. I use carb soda and water. Bring to the boil and leave it to cool, then scrub.

I made some Biscoff Biscuits from Cookidoo. They don’t look much but taste very nice.

Cookie, love the rolls and biscuits.
Had visitors for 2 days. Made 1/2 plain and 1/2 Date scones. Reheated in AF for second day. Good.
SC corned beef handy for sandwiches, hot with mashed potatoes and veggies.

Freezer 'bits and pieces' minestrone soup (calling it minestrone soup stretches the imagination quite a bit!); eggs rougaille; bean burgers and a salad of some sort

I plan to make a fruit cake this afternoon. The fruit has been soaking in crushed pineapple and whisky for 24 hours now.
