The stew sounds nice Judy. We have become quite fond of beans and chick peas. I plan to make some of RTE Baked Beans this week.

There will be a lot of it cookie and I probably won’t like it, I seem to be over anything that has canned tomato in it but I wanted to use up those 2 cans of beans which have been sitting in the pantry for some time now. I didn’t put any chilli in it.

It could always become a thick soup Judy.

It certainly looks as if that’s what it’s going to be cookie, it wasn’t cooked in 2 hours - I’m extending the time to 3.5 hours. It could be eaten as a stew or soup.

Judy, that looks delicious. With Ral on a low fibre diet, I’m craving fibre veggies. Big pot of chow Mein helping.
Made flat rolls. Too easy.

Well, as expected, I didn’t like the bean stew so into the bin that went.  The finely diced carrots weren’t cooked and the overall taste did nothing for my taste buds.

That stew sounds nice Judy, what a shame you didn't like it.  I would like it but not sure about the men.

The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I should have known better not to waste my time Margaret, back to basics for a while until I get the yen to cook something different.  1 step forward, 4 steps back seems to be the way it goes.

Judy that is a pity.
Ive made some plain biscuits today. I got the recipe from the Coles Cooking group facebook site. The raw mix was nothing special.

Stewed ripe figs with a little sugar cinnamon quill and lemon rind and water in a heavy pot . Any ideas what else to do with figs , they are the darker purple ones . No Thermomix here at the beach .

I’d be happy to just eat them as they are K Atie. Hated them as a kid when Nana had a tree and I could have had them for free, I don’t even remember when I started to enjoy them.

I remember my Great Grandmother had a tree but we were never allowed near it when we visited. She was a very strict lady.
I would probably make jam with them.
