Pretty scarce cooking this weekend.  Stew and a vegan mushroom and potato dauphinoise (I strongly suspect that that is the incorrect spelling, sorry about that).
Marina from Melbourne and Guildford

I made one of Thermomumma’s long loaves today, one Chookie posted long ago with chia and oat bran in and cooked from a cold oven and some Macadamia slice. Both breads were delivered to family.

I made some Lemon Biscuits. They look rather plain but I’m assured that they are nice.

Made 9 jars of citrus jam. I used citrus juice instead of water.  All gone now. Gave it away.
Made 3 bread sticks, mixed grain, wholemeal flour and a 1/3 white flour.  Also a Wholemeal loaf in the bread machine.
Made cream of Celery soup and 12 sausage rolls with leftover sausage meat, ( well it was 1/2 pumpkin but you wouldn’t know ).
Small pear tart.
Hope I can fit some in freezer.

Playing around in kitchen.  Made Brick pastry and an experimental loaf in bread machine. Loaf has marmalade and dried sour cherries and oatmeal in it. I’m going to wrap the brick pastry around salmon that is topped with spinach.

Chookie how clever of you to make brick pastry.
Yesterday I made the seeded loaf from Cookidoo again. I put it in a larger tin and let it rise, but I think I left it too long. When I turned it out of the tin it was top heavy. It is cooked all the way through but it’s very light and airy.
I also made the Everyday Sourdough from Cookidoo. I rushed it a bit and didn’t tighten the loaf enough when I was shaping it. However it’s very tasty.

I made a chocolate cake for afternoon tea for Father's Day.

I’m not sure if I mentioned this. It’s called a Swamp Rat! It’s an eggplant sliced into 4 long sliced and each slice stuffed with traditional ratatouille vegetables. I put red capsicum, zucchini and garlic in the slices topped with mozzarella cheese. I think it need some tomato as well.
Wrapped in foil and cooked in AF. It was delicious and very different. Not a good photo.
