No cooking here for a few days as I've been a king size grumble bum with my tooth.

That’s not nice Cookie. Hope it gets well treated. I broke a tooth a couple of weeks ago. DD fixed it. I repay her by cooking for events she organises. She won’t accept payment.
The Strawberry and fresh Cranberries made a very tasty jam. Think I’ll make more as this lot has nearly all gone.

A very rustic looking Chicken Family Galette using some left over bbq chicken and a few vegetables that needed using up.  I have a Christmas pudding cooking at the moment (the photo is of last years pudding).  This is a thank you for a friend who gives me fresh veg from her garden during the year.  Some vegan chocolate bliss balls and some vegan cashew shortbread.  These are both in the freezer.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I took a Christmas cake out of its tin today. It’s unusual that it’s made in a ring tin. I soaked the fruit for about a week, and when it’s cooked I cover it in foil and wrap in a towel for about 48 hours. I’ve never made this before but it’s very nice. https://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipes/gourmet-fruit-cake/h3g7yajo

It is unusual cookie but looks very nice. With those tins you don’t have the problem of the centre not being cooked properly.

So very true Judy. That was what attracted me to it initially. It’s yummy too.

I made some Rum and Raisin Shortbread yesterday. It’s very tasty. The recipe was from. WW cookbook. https://www.womensweeklyfood.com.au/recipe/baking/rum-and-raisin-shortbread-32825/

Nuts and bolts for gifts (much to my surprise, I find I rather like this mix!), tomato smokey chickpeas, lentil and sweet potato salad, macaroni and cheese and a load of roasted veges using up bits and pieces of leftovers from my cooking.

I’m showing a neighbour how I make the Portuguese Custard Tarts. She will take hers home and mine are for the Tai Chi Xmas break up tomorrow.

Nuts and Bolts are very moreish. Today I made some cherry jam, I’d had the cherries in the fridge for almost 2 weeks.  Unusual for me but I didn’t want to eat them when my tooth was aching. I also made some fruit mince. I didn’t boil enough of the liquid off, but it will be fine. I’ve been using my hot plates, but they have died. I will wait until after Christmas to get new ones.

Cookie, Cherry jam looks great. Awful nuisance about hot plates.
Made 20 SD crumpets yesterday. Ate one with butter and honey. Lovely, possibly best I have made.
