I made cranberry sauce, only did half the recipe because the packet came in a 250g pack.It made a large and a baby jar,my mind was wondering a little and the port that I had in the measuring cup didn't get added at the end.I couldn't waste it could I ?  :-))  :-)) Also Made my Chocolate Fudge Cake.

Nicola oh no hope she is ok. Am guessing she wants more kids if she is 20. But usually if it's an hysterectomy it will be an emergency/immediate one.

I think, right now, another child is far from uppermost in her mind but she's got another 25 years of fertility left ...  Thankfully a hysterectomy has been averted.  I also found out today that a friends new baby (about 8 weeks now) who has been very poorly saw the consultant at a specialist hospital out of the area today to decide when his lung operation would be only to discover that our local (teaching) hospital had misdiagnosed and he doesn't need an operation after all - YAAAY

My 2nd was 7 in October, and number 3 will be 4 in March, so you waited longer for 2 and 3 than me. (smart woman, lol)
But mine are all girls.
One of my best friends from the UK (now in the US) we had ours all together with hers all boys.

To be honest I would have preferred them closer together but I breastfed for an extended period of time which seemed to massively delay the return of my fertility (which was never great anyway) so we got number 2 when we got him.  We couldn't agree on a number 3.  I really wanted a 3rd for a couple of years and dh didn't then dh did and I didnt then dh's brother died very suddenly in an rta so we decided on a 3rd which happened quicker than both the others ...

I'm 42 now and both the big boys have adhd and are on the autistic spectrum and a 3rd is definitely not planned!

I'm confused, are you UK based?

I've also completely forgotten the purpose of this forum ......  sorry, massive thread drift  :o  ;D

Nik,
LOL luckily/unluckily long term round the clock breastfeeding never put a stop to my fertility.
Sounds like hard work with your boys.
I've been in Australia nearly 5 years. The older two were born in the UK but the little one born here.
Yes a little off topic aren't we.

So back on topic, as for what I'm cooking today - need to do a couple of dips for tomorrow (xmas day), made pancakes for breakfast. And going to be brave and make dh some chicken liver pate. Oh and tonight going to try TrudyO's  Honey Mustard Chicken. After making dip I'll no doubt make a coleslaw.

Decided to open my ham today as it will probably cool down after Christmas Day and we won't be wanting cold meals.  Whipped up a coleslaw then a potato & egg salad - quick as a flash in the TMX.  Now for some housework.

Today is the day all the salads will be made (have done a couple already), the turkey and terrine cooked, fruit salad and trifle done and dips etc. If the heat doesn't get me then I'll do Chookie's Garlicky bread. Very busy day but then tomorrow I do nothing.

Today for lunch I made pizza pockets. I made the dough last week and froze in 8 balls wrapped in plastic wrap. This is definately a favourite with all the family. I took a photo and I'll attempt to post it. Not sure if i'm doing it right though.  We will see

This morning I made some large rolls from Isi's recipe. My brother came for lunch before flying back to CAnberra. So we had the rolls with ham and salad in them. For dessert we had fruit salad sorbet. It was lovely. I used 1 banana, 1 apricot, 1 kiwi and 2 peaches. They were all a little soft so just perfect for the sorbet.
A lovely light meal after all the Christmas food.

I made the banananana walnut bread someone posted a while back.

I copied and pasted just the recipe so can't give attribution.  Excellent flavor and texture and super easy.

Maddy, these look beautiful.   Oh,  how I am missing my TMX.   We are in beautiful Hobart.   DH is GLUED to the window, watching the yachts come in.   I must admit it is an inspiring sight.  The food available is excellent but to be able to quickly make a bit of soup or a pasta dish would be handy.   Bought a tin of Tomato soup.   haven't done this in over a year.  A couple of ideas I have picked up.....apple sauce,  cubes of apple cooked with seed mustard and a pinch of cinnamon.  Mongolian beef,  I think this would convert very well.  has someone done this yet?

I am pretty sure there is a mongolian beef recipe in the MOTM Chookie. I don't have it in front of me though
