I've frozen the left overs for ME. ;D

yes, one night when you don't feel like cooking you can sit there with a glass of wine in hand and a lovely hot meal on your lap  ;D

Hiya Karen
These actually where pretty small - about two mouthfuls each! Perfect for finger food - I just had one cold and they were yummy! Just don't make the mix too wet or they will be sloppy. Probably will try to make them bigger next time for lunches and because I chopped the veg pretty fine, the kids didn't complain !! :)

Had another one of my weekend cook ups to fill my freezer.  Made cashew pesto, cottage rolls for the first time (with cashews, they are delicious), lentil bolognaise, breakfast hash, Vegetables and Cashews with Coconut Satay Sauce and Coconut Rice using tofu instead of chicken and garlic steamed rice.  That should keep us going until next weekend!!

Chookie your mini muffins look lovely. Today I've made some largish rolls using a recipe of Isi's, Jo's banana/macadamia icecream and strawberry foam. One of the visitors loved the TMX so we had 2 lots of sweets.

Our big boy starts school tomorrow :'( so I have been preparing lunch box food today. I made cheese and vegemite scrolls, a chocolate slab cake, Isi's cherry muffins and a batch of Kathryn's "treat the team" biscuits. I forgot about the no-nut policy with the biscuits so they will have to stay at home. Oh drat!!!  ;D

Good luck Chelsea  :) is this his first day? You guys start your school year late huh?? I thought I had prepared for everything but forgot to explain to my youngest what would happen. He was most upset when we went to leave. Once I explained that we would be going back to collect his brother after a little while he was fine. Just my experience ;)

Thanks so much everyone.  It is certainly different experiencing the start of the school year as a parent (not just as a teacher). I am hoping there won't be tears from me, but I am a big sook when it comes to my boys.

Yes it is his first day Meagan.  Most of the kids went back last week, but our school has a staggered start for kindergarten and our son had to wait until tomorrow.  Kinder is a bit different in Tassie.  Here it is the first year of proper schooling and is for children that are 5 (or turning 5 this year).  I think on the mainland kinder is what we call pre-school or pre-kinder (3-5 year olds)??

Oh my goodness that was terrible!!!  I made it to the door before I started getting teary, but then sobbed all the way home.  Even my Hubby looked a bit teary (although he would never admit it).  Sending our firstborn to school certainly wasn't easy.  I don't think sending "the baby" will be any easier in another two years. :'( :'( :'(

Chelsea,  know how you feel.  When I was in charge of a Prep school we let the Mums and Dads,  and sometimes Grannies stay as long as they wanted on the first day.  We offered morning tea and they left when they were able to see the little ones happily occupied. It is easier with the second one,  I think,  as you know both children are together.  You are allowed to blubber, all part of being a Mum. ;D

Oh Chelsea you poor darling. It is sure different when you are the Mum and some other teacher is telling you they will be fine, instead of you telling the Mum. Be brave, he WILL be fine.
