Special occasion Robyn?....or are their colleagues just very lucky  ;)

Well, finally got the cupcakes finished just before we rushed out the door for dinner.

The chocolates are hand made in their farm house kitchen, and are totally divine!!

We ordered:

strawberry cream
peppermint cream
butterscotch schnapps
berries & cream
oh, and a brownie for the candle  :P

........and no, we weren't little piggies....we brought home a doggy bag  ;D

No special occasion - I often make batches of goodies to give to ppl (better than eating them myself).  Maddy your cupcakes and the resulting pics are spectacular, I am sure that you both enjoyed the choc tea rooms  ;)  ;) Wish your DD a belated 14th pls  :-*

I went to a local farmer's market yesterday and there was a cup cake stand so I just HAD to stop to have a good look at them and, honestly, Maddy, Hallie and all you other cup cake experts out there, your cakes looked MILES (or should I say kilometres?) better than those on the stand.  I didn't buy one to taste, I simply went on appearance.

By the way I do not mean to be derogatory about the woman who had gone to all that work, she did a wonderful job - I know I certainly couldn't even hope to prepare sufficient cup cakes to keep a stall running for four hours at a market.  As I said, my comments were simply made on the appearance - and I guess I am also biased towards the presentations that I have seen on the forum.

Forgot to add that I found time to cook as well go to the farmers market and weed a couple of garden beds.

Made the savoury version of CADA from Steph's blog on here which is delicious, I made the smoky lentil goulash again, and substituted some of the sweet paprika with smoky paprika, then I went on to the Frozen Mango Bars.  I used coconut cream for these and took them out of the freezer shortly before they were frozen totally and they were very easy to cut into slices and they tasted gorgeous - my DH and I ate far too many of them, but there are still some left over.  I also made the orange and zucchini risotto, which was a bit too orangey for my taste, but still gorgeous and also made some of the lemon concentrate cleaner to finish off the day.

Now I know why I don't bake!  Those cakes (all of 'em) are amazing.

Maddy, Johnro, Passionflower (and more, you know who you are) are you professional bakers, or is this just something you love doing?  What a way to spread love to the people around you, and lucky us forum folk who get to live vicariously through your cakes!

I used to design and make wedding cakes as a business when we lived in wales, I stopped once we moved up North because of hubs work so I am only doing the odd one, maybe 2-3/year so I am a bit rusty and so out of practice, but I love it still immensely.

I too used to ice wedding/birthday/anniversary cakes - three small girls put a stop to that as well as a cat that took a liking to the fondant (this was discovered one morning after finishing my BIL 21st, the cat had eaten off the icing from the top edge along 2 sides of a square cake. Seems like a lifetime ago!!!!!  :)

You'd better keep practising though Robyn, those 3 not-so-little girls-now will one day want a wedding cake decorated by their Mum  ;)
