Well done Nazar!
Today I made old fashioned sherbet. I am testing this out for our upcoming school fete.
My kids loved it and so did my nieces and nephew.
Let's hope it sells at the fete

congratulations nazar you have done very well to cook all those things and submit for the show. You probably learnt a lot too from their unbiased critique and having a look at what your competitors submitted.

I am so impressed with my DD (11 years) she just made some chocolate rum balls (Minus the rum) in the TM and converted the recipe to TM and typed the method out on the iPad as she went.
I know its a pretty easy recipe to convert but to tackle conversions at her age is brilliant.

NO! but I would do it in a much more simple way next time. I always follow a recipe to the T with my first go unless there is some glaring error that I know wouldn't work. They had you mash some potato, add some flour, semolina, salt & an egg. You then sprinkled a large piece of gladwrap with semolina, placed the potato mixture on top, cover with a second piece of gladwrap and roll into a rectangle 25 x 30cm. Peel off the top layer of gladwrap, scatter a thawed and drained 320g packet of frozen spinach on top followed by 100g swiss cheese. You then had to roll the mixture, using the gladwrap underneath like you would when making a pavlova roll. It just doesn't work with mashed potato though although I did wonder if I had let it go cold whether it might have worked better. I got there in the end somehow then surprisingly got it onto a lined tray without any disasters. You then mix an egg yolk and a tablespoon of cream and brush that over the top. Cook 160
o
C F/F for 40 minutes on the lowest shelf of an electric oven.
What I would do is just make layers on the baking tray of the mash mix, spinach, cheese - repeat until all the ingredients were used up, ending in mash and smoothing some over the sides. Cover with the egg/cream mix and it should turn out pretty much the same.

You are right to be proud of her Mandi, they have to start off simple and build up to harder things so she is well on the way to doing that. I bet she was wrapped with her efforts herself.

My DD23 successfully made a recipe without the TM on the weekend. I thought that was marvellous because she has only ever used TM recipes to cook. The TM has given her the confidence in the kitchen

She is, and considering she is still in quiet alot of pain, Its been a week today since she had her tonsils removed and I cant see her going back to school for a while yet, She has a school camp on Wednesday but I doubt she will be going. So she is bored at home hence her cooking the rich chocolate cake and the rum less rum balls.

Poor kid. Cooking will take her mind off it - can she eat what she is cooking though?
