Good way of hiding vegies fundj!
I have been given a huge box of apricots and have gone apricot mad
- have made apricot jam, apricot chutney, dried apricots, apricot jam slice, apricot curd, whole bottled apricots in syrup. Thanks Thermie (oh and Uncle John for growing them )

You must be sick of apricots by now Nay. Down here they seem to ripen during Christmas week when everyone has so many other things to do.

Today I spent all morning converting and cooking Veal Birds in the TMX/varoma but, although they were quite OK, certainly not worth the effort I went to on a hot day here in Adelaide.

This recipe was from an Austrian book Chookie bought me back from her European holiday - the proper name is Kalbsvogerl
Uni.
Basically a piece of veal bashed, spread with a filling made from bacon, onion, garlic, mince meat, cream and some steamed vegies, rolled up. I browned them off in a pan then steamed them in the varoma with a mushroom, bacon, beef stock and onion sauce cooking below, the potatoes in the basket and the vegies in the tray. (similar method to Chelsea's sausage and mash).

in the basket while cooking the sauce

Garlic Bread, Fish Chowder and Chorizo risotto. It was extremely yummy and our guests loved it. By co-incidence I found out that they have a Thermomix. They have had it for about 5 or 6 years and it lives in the cupboard
. They don't use it
. I said "for shame!!!" Get that machine out of the cupboard and onto your counter top. They were so impressed with the meal I made in my Thermo Chef, that they are going to change their ways and make their counter top Thermie friendly.

I'm glad you shamed them into bringing it out of the cupboard Nola, fancy you not knowing they had one. Did you tell them about the forum, maybe they just need to get their hands on some decent recipes to rekindle their enthusiasm.
Uni, yes it does sound like an involtini and I do have packs of napolitana and marinara sauce in the freezer that I could reheat the leftovers in - of course then it becomes an Italian dish and not an Austrian one

Judy, do you make CP's washing powder? I bought all the Ingres before we went to UK and didn't get time to make it then my girls bought a huge box while I was away. I wondered how many used it and which one people preferred.
