I love all the photos, they are so inspiring. I've made some of Chookies bread/crackers with spelt flour today and made them small and thin, (they are yummy), a spinach and fetta dip, a salmon pate, pannacotta, raspberry coulis, Tenina's caramelised white chocolate, and will make a modified version of the terrine in the Festive Book when Termite comes to a stop from the chocolate. He has worked hard all morning and the best part is so little washing up. I'm cooking a couple of roasts to have as cold meat tomorrow and will make salads in the morning.

Made Anzac biscuits with macadamia nuts ( a family favourite now), bill granger's choc custard tart ( which I converted for TMX and which was so yummy) and Odettes onion jam. I was not that happy with the jam since the flavours seem unbalanced. Will try to post the choc tarts recipe although I tried to post a berry and maple pudding recipe and it kept coming up with the message that the session had timed out and to try again. After the third attempt I gave up! Has anybody had this problem?

I had a baking day as I had my son's birthday party. It has been so hot here, so I reduced the amount of baking I had intended to do. Just as well, as the kids didn't eat much. I made the Bimby chocolate cake ( but made it as a vanilla cake by omitting the cocoa and adding extra vanilla), 100's and 1000's biscuits, and then I converted my usual basic biscuit recipe and used a number 8 biscuit cutter and sprinkled them with coloured sugar, and also made some traffic light biscuits using red, orange and green lifesaver lollies. I also made ham and cheese scrolls and vegemite and cheese scrolls - I converted a scone based recipe as I didn't have time to wait for yeast to rise.
I was worried about the buttercream icing melting as the forecast was 37C and the party was to be held in a shed, so I used the Wilton buttercream recipe which uses half butter and half copha. I was really dubious as I hate the taste of copha, but it actually turned out well. In the end the forecast the night before the party was 39C, so we had a quick change of plans and held the party at home in the air-conditioning. I had no idea that boys could make that much noise!
Oh, I forgot to mention that all of these were made in my Thermo Chef. What would I do without it?

Been really hot and windy here today and a fire has started not far from here. Thought I would share an image taken by Michell DuPont
I do hate fires, they really do scare me.

That would be scary Mandi, hope they have it under control.
ES, great going there in spite of the heat.
Courton, no it has never happened to me when posting a recipe. Could you type it in notebook or something then just copy it onto the forum?

Dede, an amazing picture, but please take care. I hate fires too, although I have been fortunate that I haven't been anywhere near a bush fire, must be the most terrifying experience.

We are under no threat where we are but there are many other property's in line of the fire. I hope they have it under control quickly. The wind has settled down now so hope that gives them some chance to stop it in its track.
