Violet crumble brownies, chocolate crunch, jam drops and choc chip cookies for today. Tomorrow I'm thinking cheese and bacon rolls, scrolls of some sort, might make hot cross buns as well. And something savory like egg and bacon pie or pizza. Not sure yet.

Visitors for dinner,  so roast pork, roast pumpkin, multi colored carrots,  silverbeet from garden and squashed potatoes,  also from garden. Apple sauce with Bramley apples from friends' garden.    Bread and butter pud,  using stale fruit buns and pumpkin Pie.  Pumpkin pie a special recipe as friends are on a no sugar diet.  Will post if any good.

Mushroom & Sausage Ragu in the weber (it looks better than it tasted) and a batch of apple pies in the piemaker using Isi's apple crumble recipe to cook the apples although I did cook them longer.

Ohhh Chookie do u have the recipe for the pumpkin pie? I'm on a sugar free diet too, it's impossible to cook something yummy and pumpkin pie sounds yummo.

DD ( 8 ) has hounded me all day to cook something on her own (with my supervision of course)
So she just made a chocolate self saucing pudding.

Well that keeps her of my back now for a few days ;D

In the throes of cooking Honey Mustard Chicken to have with scalloped potatoes - only to discover I have no cream. Hopefully the yogurt will be a suitable replacement.

I've been having success with replacing sugar with agave syrup - would this be suitable for your friend Chookie?

My nephew (8) made http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/node/17784
He was so proud of himself!
We altered the dried fruit and he put a mixture of the fruit he liked.
The kids loved it.  I found it a bit heavy.  Dont think the dough rose enough(?)

Rara x

Ps get well soon uni.  I had a terrible cough at the beginning of the year only to find out I had whooping cough!!

Having a go at maddy's chocolate hot cross buns.
Follow up - These were amazing, huge though so we shared one.  Even DH enjoyed his half - he won't eat fruit buns so looks like we have a winner here.  Thanks maddy.
Judy could you put Maddy's Choclate Hot Cross Bun Recipe in the bread section so it's easier to find  :-* :-*  ;D ;D

I've done this Judy, you can have a little rest. ;)
