Thanks for finding that Thermomixer - the Osso Bucco looks amazing and it is hard to believe it cooks in such a short time. Wonder if you could do lamb shanks in the same way? I was actually going to try the turkey leg recipe from FSA this week but for the first time in ages, there were none available in the supermarket where I shop.  I do a drunken turkey recipe using legs which are so cheap so perhaps could adapt this recipe to the varoma too.  Mmm, food for thought  :P :P :P

My curry turned out delicious from the oven - I didn really have time to marinade or fluff around , sometimes you just have to accept you cant do it all in the thermomix!! LOL. the rice was pretty good tho!

Patzee here is Cyndi's Herb bread recipe. It is from her book "Healthy Eating"

100g whole grain wheat, spelt or rye. I used rye.
400g unbleached strong flour or Baker's flour
300g water
2 teaspoons dried yeast
1 teaspoon salt
20g oil
1/2 cup fresh herbs
Sesame or sunflower seeds for the top

Place herbs into the bowl and mince for 4-5 seconds on speed 6.
Place grains into the bowl and mill for 1 minute on speed 9.
Add water first then yeast,  salt, oil, flour and herbs into the TM bowl and mix for 6 seconds on speed 6 to combine.
Set dial to closed lid position.
Knead for 2 minutes on Interval speed.
Place the dough into a floured bread tin or onto a floured tray and mould into desired shape.  Sprinkle with seeds.  Allow to rise in a warm position or place in a pre-heated oven on 50 for 15 minutes.
Once dough has risen, bake in a hot oven on 200 for 20-25 minutes.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

We have been in Melb for a couple of days so not much cooking here.  Cheese sauce for mac and cheese tonight, a sorbet and rewhipped some icecream.

I love hearing what everyone is cooking each day  :) Today I made an easy quiche and for dinner we had chicken noodle soup. YUM!

I had a bit of a day in the kitchen today.  Made my chicken & vegie soup, my pork and potato recipe from the forum with some steamed garlic rice to go with it.  Had to do these early as I wanted to do Cookies steamed puddings and custard plus still had to steam some vegies.  Needed 2 pairs of hands and 2 TMXs today but with the help of the microwave and the thermosaver, I got there.  I don't know why I go to so much trouble for just the 2 of us but I am definitely having tomorrow off. DH was so full he only wanted 1/4 of a pudding - hope they reheat OK for tomorrow.

They do Judy. I'm like you, wondering why I go to heaps of trouble. I guess the TMX has us firmly in its grasp.We rarely have the same meal twice here. (well occasionally we do with old favourites). I love planning for the week and what I'll cook.
The family are good guinea pigs. They pass judgement as to whether I should bin the recipe or keep it.  I have several enormous files of recipes.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Hey JD - I know what you mean.  There are only two of us, too, but I feel obligated to try new things, take photos in the hope that i will then post.

Should just settle down to soup every night.

I"ve only had mine a few days and already wonder if they appreciate the effort!  I know the kids do with biccies and cakes etc lol but they won't appreciate the soup i've made for tea!

So today I've made Judy's Chicken and Veg soup from here (yum), Spelt Bread Rolls from the EDC (YUM), Marmee's cornflake cookies from here and tried my first conversion of a banana bread recipe.  It looks and tastes OK cold, very very smooth lol.  The test will be when it comes out of the oven.

I think that's enough for me today considering I should be doing things other than cooking!

today i had friends over for a party plan lunch(eon) ;) then one of the kids' school friend's families came for afternoon tea.  so today the thermomix made:
  • fruit smoothie for breakie
  • spiced pumpkin & carrot soup
  • minestrone soup
  • mushroom risotto
  • chocolate cupcakes
  • strawberry and choc custard

I would love to have just my husband and I to cook for (even occasionally).  Tonight our 3 year old fell off his chair when he was looking for a wayward carrot and our 16 month old rubbed Guinness stew threw his hair >:(.  I'm hanging out for a civilised dinner for two (although I'm sure I will be a little sad when it eventuates).

Using the tmx today I made apple, orange and blueberry breakfast juice, bible bread, blackberry jam, Guinness stew, mashed potato and yummy apple crumble.  :)

Many thanks Cookie1 for bread recipe.  Been out all day do havent touched TMX today.  Definitely will be baking tomorrow.  Made Raisin loaves yesterday, really nice.  Couldnt stop eating it.  :-\

OK enlighten the soooo non foodie here (yes I will put up my hand lol) how did you make strawberry and choc custard??? or is that a strawberry custard and a choc custard, if that is the case how for the strawberry  ??? ??? ???
