You did well Kathryn - isn't it a pity we have to get some sleep at the end of the day.  Where do you get your stamina from  ??? ???

Hello everyone

today we have made so far porridge, fruit buns (hot x buns from EDC with some changes due to lack of ingredients) and whole orange muffins from here - Trudy's recipe I think.  The batter was delish so I think the cooked version will be even better!  The fruit buns are a lovely soft consistency, but the spices, peel etc was not right for me so I'll  play next time.

The rest of the day includes lasagne for tomorrow nights tea, anzacs while the lasagne is cooking and carbonara for tonights tea.

Have a good one!

Today we had Christmas in August  ??? ??? to use up a spare turkey breast roll leftover from last Christmas. Made cheese sauce in the TMX for the broccoli/cauli au-gratin, steamed the vegies in the TMX and did the roasting part out in the weber. I did make the Yorkshire Puddings but because it is so long since I made them, I made the mistake of putting them in large muffin trays instead of the smaller trays and they just refused to cook, even with an extra 10 minutes.  I gave up on them in the end - we had one each but it was a bit gluggy inside.  I have frozen the rest and will try to recook them another day (you can buy frozen pre-cooked ones in the supermarkets so it might work - nothing to lose anyway).
Whilst the au-gratin was browning in the oven I also cooked Amanda's Lemon Yoghurt Cake and after lunch I peeled 7 heads of garlic in the TMX, removed the little green centres and froze them - I find it so handy to just grab how many I want and always make sure I have plenty in the freezer.

How did they go Thermomixer??

Judy - that's a great idea with the garlic!

You all put me to shame lately!  Tonight we made spaghetti with smoked chicken and vegies with a cream sauce. I was going to make spag bol sauce tonight for tomorrow night, but Miss 3 has come down with a temp, a headache and is snuffly tonight (went to bed without eating)  :'(  so we might end up staying home tomorrow instead...

Croissants worked out well - the stuffed ones best because I let them prove longer - great buttery flavour,

JD I have still been cooking up a storm today, sadly our next door neighbour passed away today (brain cancer so was a blessing in the end) Her three boys are the same age as my teens. She was a fantastic cook and I am trying to do my little bit for them for the next little while :( It has struck a few cords in our home as my boys can't contemplate life with out me - bless them  :-*

Team meeting in the morning, really hoping there might be some new recipes to share  ;D ;D

It's a pity more neighbours aren't like you Kathryn.  Well done.

TMX has been quiet today cause I've been at work.  Porridge for breakfast and coleslaw for tea to go with the lasagne I made yesterday.  I can't believe salad in 3 secs!  And the kids loved it so that's a winner.

As per my menu plan, I cooked some pasta, mixed together & heated up 2 different lots of leftover sauces (red wine sauce and lamb shank sauce and served it to DH.  Luckily there were a few pieces of lamb in the sauce but I was waiting for a comment 'what, no meat!'. It didn't come and he actually enjoyed it.  Phew, won that one.  I love these 'free' meals from leftovers, especially on a busy day like today. Got 1 serve leftover to take to Mum tomorrow.

So sorry to hear about your neighbour Kathryn. what a wonderful neighbour and friend you are. Those boys must be doing it tough.  Even at 30 I couldn't bear the thought of losing my mother and her amazing support.

And Judy, it's lovely all the cooking you do for your family too.

Isn't it wonderful to have our Thermies to make it all so much easier  ;D
