Not a lot today. Have just made Tenina's Granuelsi which DH eats by the handful. Tonight we're trying Tenina's basil steak. (?)
REcovering from yesterdays visitors and tomorrow I'll make a start on the 'big' meal for Tuesday night.

What could I serve with Beef Curry with lemon feta, and Beef and ale pie please? I'm going to do rice but apart from that I'm not too sure. I was thinking maybe a big tossed salad. DD has requested naan bread too.
Entree is ricotta and grapes with crusty bread. Desserts Pecan Dauph???????????? from FFS.

Cookie, Tenina's Jacket potatoes with pesto sour cream pge 80 FFS would go well with your lunch selection along with the tossed salad.

Wow Cookie - not sure what you could serve with it but all sounds YUM!

Made an apple crumble topping and the Almond and parmesan crusted salmon with lemon cream sauce - we all love salmon done this way!

You have the main covered Cookie.(rice, salad and naan bread) Maybe some stuffed olives for starters??  You don't need anything else - It's PERFECT.

I made a 5 seed loaf and tomato sauce from EDC which I used for cannelloni. I am not impressed with this sauce.  If anyone has any suggestions for a better sauce I would appreciate it.

Made Beetroot Pomegranate Pistachio salad from Toni Valent's book - a bit of an experiment as DH doesn't particularly like beetroot so I never use it, similarly Pomegranate, but it was a really nice salad and definitely to be made again.  It was simple to make - the preparation, as usual, took longer than the TMX portion.  We had it with a barbecue and everyone said that it complemented the sausages beautifully.  Also made JulieO's Curried Pasta Salad at http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2081.0  (for some reason I can't get the web link to work today), which I've done several times now and is always popular.

We smoked the aubergine but it didn't work.  They tasted nicely of smoke, but they also had the taste of un-cooked aubergine, which is not really nice so I think they will go back to being cooked on the grill when we have barbecues in future.

When ever I tried to smoke aubergine I always had trouble keeping it lit.  ;)

DD I actually have trouble lighting it in the first place. ;D

Bread looks lovely Uni.

Thanks for the food suggestions . Today I am having a bread baking time. I've made Maddy's cheese and bacon rolls, Chookie's no fuss recipe as a loaf and it is enormous. I now hope to make Chookie's fruit loaf and put something in the biscuit barrel.
Dinner is in the slow cooker. I thought it would be cool, but we are back to a few 30 degree +days but it cools quickly in the evening.

Cookie it's freezing here (Tas) at the moment. Think I will get the slow cooker out. We have the fire going. Our summer has gone well and truly I believe :(

I do love Tassie. I think it's time we revisited it. DH wants to take the car and van over on the ferry, but I'm a bit of a chicken. :P

DD and Cookie - any suggestions on successfully smoking Aubergine - apart from getting the smoker started then managing to keep it going!

I found this one of Cookie's too which may be an alternative Dashingden.

I made a batch of plum jam with some of the last of the seasons plums.  I also made a roast of beef and vegetables for an early dinner. Then some apple crumble and custard for supper.
