I made a double batch of the EDC egg custard for tomorrow then went to the shops for last minute stuff and found a packet of 3 large broccoli heads out for 20 cents.  Bought it for the GD's guinea pigs but when I got it home, it was too good for them so I made a couple of batches of broccoli soup.  One was a thick broccoli & cheese which I have posted and the other was a broccoli, cashew and potato which I tweaked from Kath's recipe where I will do a review. Strange thing to be making the day before Christmas but 12 serves of soup for 20 cents, I just had to do it.  No room in my freezers so I will have to take it around to Mums.

What am I cooking today?

All I can say is thank goodness for the TMX. When you run out of mayonnaise ..............you just make some more.
Busy day today as I do everything and then really goof off tomorrow.

Made some mayo to use with the rice salad, (which I posted on the Vegetarian site),  prepared the vegies for the beetroot salad for tomorrow.    Wish I had bought some cheap vegies like JD.   Every thing seemed to be double in price.

Well in true crazy Chrsitmas leave it to the last minute style.....I have made 5 jars of lemon butter 5 jars of stock concentrate and vanilla sugar. Now I am having a rest while the house is still with the whole family having 'quiet time' and after we get up I will make some pasta, meat balls, spagetti sauce, biscuits and then finish sewing some cristmas presents and then make sure everything is wrapped and ready to go and ensure that Santa has left his letter for the boys ;) to read in the morning.

Today my Thermomix and I have made:

- whipped cream
- guacamole
- bread rolls
- stuffing

still to go:
- gravy
- custard

:)

Wish it could roast my turkey for me, lol.

The recipe I use is really for a very hard seitan that you can cut into thin slices and then fry to use in a stir fry. We love it.
