I made the pear chutney today.... it's still cooling off (I like that kind of thing cold or at room temp), but seems like it's a success :)  Wifey likes it ;)

Forgot to say that I also made Beetroot and coriander salad, and garlic and herb dip.  Yum.

Was that raw beetroot or cooked?

I have just made the quick chocolate cake from the Everyday Cookbook.  I will be picking up 5 teenage rowing boys this afternoon and need to feed them.

C'mon.  He's a spring chicken.  My father is 91 and still driving :)  He and my 87 year old mother live by themselves.

Raw - it's the recipe in the Australian book (p39).

By the way, if any non-aussie would like this recipe, let me know and I'll post it.
As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

Oooh - that sounds lovely!  Could you post the recipe, please?  (unless, of course, it is posted and I'm just blind!)  ;D

Finally got cooking again :)

My wife's favorite meal is something my son doesn't like that much (something we call stuffato, a seafood stew with fresh clams, mussels, crab, shrimp, scallops, and fish in a tomato basil sauce) which I'm planning to make for her for Valentine's day.  Soooooo, I figured I'd make one of his favorites tonight, lobster ravioli in a gorganzola sauce.   Figured I could adapt my sauce recipe to the  *:  It worked great !!!  Josh said it was my best one yet :)  You can find the recipe and pictures HERE .  Be sure to follow the ThermoMix version.

How did this turn out, Warren?
I might give it a go.

No cooking for me over the weekend as my daughter had her first ever polo-cross tournament that began on Friday night and finished sunday afternoon, so we ate there all weekend.
She played 4 games over the weekend and her side made it into the finals, but lost to a much better team. :(
Still, she can only get better - especially when we get our hand on another horse.  Her current horse is a little reluctant to get into the fray so we might have to swap him for one with more polo-cross experience.

Today I made a protein drink for breakfast,  loosely based on Cyndi O'Meara's recipe.  It oozes health and vitamins and, if I'm very good, holds me in check until lunch time!

Amanda, if you like Gorgonzola, it was great!  My son rated it up with the best he's ever had :)  Let me know what you think.

Promise that I will post the recipes.
