By toasties, do you mean sandwiches or do you use rolls. I am sure no one thought you were on high horse; I am just impressed and wish I was so organised. I always cook a meal for 4 and freeze half so we have another one in the freezer when I am in a hurry.

Just catching up.  Love all the lovely food being cooked.
Emme,  your adopted.  I think we like the same type of food.
Astarra,  love your energy,  keeps me feeling young.
Think I got my magazines confused,  was thinking of Feast.  It has the bread  section in it.  Julie,  will check yours out.
Not much cooking today,  reheating Chow Mien  and soup.  No rain, not hot so day in the garden.

Love SFI, I have nearly all their mags since starting..

Oooh, Obbie, may I ask a favour?
If you have time one day, could you please have a look through the index of the early issues for a recipe for Egg and Bacon Pie? I used to make it all the time, and always took it to BBQs, etc, but lost the recipe several years ago.  I remember it had a mixture of ricotta and feta cheeses, and had about 12 eggs cracked directly into the pie in two layers. It was really easy to make and was always well received.

I have looked for the recipe online without success, but I have found an online list of SFI recipes which suggest it could be in the Oct/Nov 1999 issue, page 48. I always look out for it in libraries and charity shops!

Don't worry if you don't have time, though. It would be a huge job to go through all those magazines if they're not in order!  :D

Many thanks,
Sue :)

Soooo happy :D :) My Aussie meat pies turned out well, despite some hiccups along the way. Used a recipe from head office for the meat filling. Won't cook it in the TM again...too watery. Will search for a better recipe using conventional stovetop.

Shortcrust from EDC was good. Had a scary moment when I took out the chilled pastry from the fridge. It was all hard. But after exercising my muscles, it was a breeze :)
