Gert what was the name of the bread you made?.  Am pondering whether to get the ebook or not, your bread looks really good.  :)

JulieO this is a very basic black and white book with illustrations. Written by a baker it gives the recipe followed by three methods, by hand, by food processor with steel blade and by Stand mixer.  The recipes are pretty forgiving and he tells you roughly how many cups of flour to use which is good for me as he tells you how the dough should feel so you feel free to add more flour or water as needs be.

This recipe was for Vienna Rolls and would have made 18 rolls if I had wanted that. Just trying the recipe out. It called for malt syrup which is impossible  to find in Cairns hence the added sugar..

My daughter in law advised me to get this book and I hesitated too long. Suddenly it arrived in my mailbox from a dear forum member. I hope she does not regret passing it on!!

This is bread making A to Z the New York Jewish way but the breads are from all over the world. Soda breads, potato breads, corn breads, fruit, cheese, challah, carrots, sour dough, rolls biscuits, muffins and quick breads.  Hundreds of breads and all pretty basic.

Love it.

Nice bread Gert.

I made frenched lamb cutlets marinated in honey soy and garlic, curried sweet potato mash and brussel sprouts. For the curried sweet potato mash I just used about 800g sweet potatoes, 25g butter, 250g milk and about a tablespoon of curry powder.
