Chilli jam coming up plus I have had a request for sweet chilli sauce which I detest but how can I say no. Such a wonderful gift eh? Also was give some rosellas straight from the tree. Ummm. Thinking rosella and ginger jam. Have not a lot so will give it a go anyway.  I may have to borrow some sugar as that is one thing I rarely buy .

Lovely looking chillies Gert. Water chestnuts are nice in San choy bau (not sure if I spelt that correct), or dumplings or dim sim or fried rice or stir fry.

Yes sorry forgot to mention the illegal bit lol and apparently australia is the only country left in the world (or almost) who still ban it for human consumption?? Bit like raw milk.. Such a load of hoo ha... I grew up on fresh raw milk no issues.. Yet they will readily sell a concoction of chemical laiden heavily processed and fat free horrid products.. Anyway they are lovely.. The hemp seeds :p

Definately recommend joining a coop if you can find one... Love my two.. Have one for dry goods and dairy and another for fruit and veg etc.. Save heaps and such a resource of info .. Ive learnt so much in the past few months...

For Perth people: you can buy hemp seeds at fresh provisions in Mt Lawley. They have a rather entertaining label about the fact that they aren't approved in Australia for human consumption.   I haven't tried them.

Gert MIL uses water chestnuts a lot in coconut based curries.

I think I have some in my cupboard too.

I was one of those crazy people at the shops yesterday. But we are going to magnetic Island. So needed some food. :)

Yesterday's pantry/freezer meal.

Found some rice noodles, just one chicken breast steamed in the Varoma, edamame bits and pieces with  a bit of Thai dressing and there you have it. No pomelo but a pink grapefruit.




12 days to go.

Food looks good, Chookie and Gert.

Went grocery shopping at 8.30 am yesterday. No crowd yet so it was quite nice.

Made kale chips in the airfryer yesterday. Happy that the chips turned out yummy, and not burnt for once. Much easier to control compared to my oven.

It is amazing what you can find in the pantry and thank goodness for the forum.

Chilli, Pumpkin Corn Bread.

Also made 4 jars of Chilli Jam
