Thanks ladies, that is kind of you. The Raw mixture was very nice. In all my excitement I forgot to line the base but I did grease it, so fortunately the cake came out. When it is cool I'll ice it with leftover Chocolate Buttercream.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I love the SS tin Mich. It has 'stuff' in the lid to keep the biscuits from going soggy.

BZB don't you eat raw cake? As the thermomix doesn't have beaters to lick I lick the spatula. Possibly even scrape the sides of the bowl again with the spatula. :D :D :D :D

Your cake looks great Cookie, I am pleased the dream pot works for you.  Will be very handy whilst you are away.

After seeing Chookies date scones I set about making some and also made some salted caramel maple ice cream except did not have maple syrup so used some Agave syrup I had in the pantry, it was out of date too  :D :D :D.  I haven't a clue what I bought that for  ??? ???

Have 1/2 made the Black Rice pud.  Took 2 hours to  cook rice in TMX.   Same as on stove. 

Think we might have to have a get together. Just to eat scones.  I reheated 2 for Dinner in the AF.   Good.

I would love one of those biccie tins too but atm we have a white goods collection in our area.  The excess of todays world and waste disgusts me ( we havent discarded anything, although have given a lot of kids things to some less fortunate people).  I feel I need to try and do without. If that makes any sense!

Could you have done the pud in a slow cooker?  Just thinking about my box of black rice.

Great cooking everyone. I made pikelets for the kids for breakfast. On a work day too! Sushi rice for lunches tomorrow at kids request.

10kg spuds - peeled, boiled and 8.5kg in freezer
1kg kumara - peeled, boiled and in freezer
1 Kent pumpkin - peeled, chopped and in freezer
1 double batch Judy's mashed potato bites - in freezer.  :D

Now to cook lunch then sort what to fill lunchbox freezer drawer with...

Astarra I think i've asked this before but do you par boil then oil your potatoes before putting in the freezer and when cooking do you thaw them first? Do you boil the pumpkin first? I find sweet potato and pumpkin take around the same time to cook so assuming I could just freeze both of them.

sun shining and clear blue sky ATM, quite cold tho.  :)
Girls still asleep, so I just peeled a whole 10kg bag of potatoes for the freezer  :o About to peel kumara now.

Thats a lot of potatoes. I have never frozen potatoes. Do you just peel & freeze & why ???

why? because we have a roast dinner most nights, and if I had to prepare potatoes every day it would take a lot more last minute effort, doing them all at once means one lot of peeling, and one lot of peelings to get rid of, then can just clean the sink properly and relax in knowing they are done for the next fortnight! Also once they are done they can't sprout of anything - saving $$ and waste.  :)
what do I do? I peel, boil then drain and put out on trays til they are cold and dry, then freeze. once frozen I put into bags and return to the freezer.  :D
to cook them I just put them onto an oven tray frozen, spray or brush with oil and cook for 45-60min on 180-200deg (whatever the rest of the meal needs to be cooked on) and once cooked, serve & eat.  :D
Have also cooked them in my Actifry (adding a bit of oil) with great results too.  ;)
If they are properly dry when frozen, cooking them like this results in crisp outsides and soft fluffy insides.
Also, if I want to do mash, I have the potatoes already peeled and boiled, making mash a lot quicker.  ;D

At my place, kumara is done the same way, but pumpkin is just peeled, cut and frozen raw.  :)

As Judy said, anything I can do in advance is a great help.
