That's lovely, Judy.  I can just imagine the scene in my mind's eye.

Thanks for the description of junket - I have a better idea of what it is now.

Just to gross you out Caroline,  coz i know you really need it.  Junket is what little baby Hannah produces in her stomach after each milk feed !!!!  The milk coagulates with rennin (rennet) to make it more solid and slow down the passage of milk through the gut.  Those chunky little bits that she throws up on occasions have the consistency of junket.  Aren't you pleased you asked while I was about ??  ;) ;) ;) :-))  Feeding children junket is good as it also slows the progression and makes it easier to digest.

Congratulations on getting back to the TMX.  Sounded lovely.  Hope Hannah's colic is not due to the "toasting" your return to the kitchen  :o :o

Last night we had a couple of small crayfish for dinner so I made a Green Goddess dressing to go with them - delicious!

Turned out really well.  I tried to explain to DH that it was a leftovers meal and that I'd probably never make it quite the same again, and he looked devastated.  Not bad for a leftovers meal!

Good work - it is frustrating when the leftovers seem to make a winner and then nobody can understand why you don't make it every week  :-)) :-)) :-))

I made Judy's Parmesan Potatoes and served with a chicken meal.  Thoroughly enjoyed.  ;D

Today I had a windfall. ;D ;D ;D,  A friend who ran a cafe in a local town (with her husband) and has just retired sent me the most popular recipes from the cafe.   Today I started converting and testing the recipes.   Today it was a Basic Cake recipe.  I will check and if there is nothing similar,  will post the recipe as it was so simple and tasted very good.

Lucky you.  I am currently trying to type up recipes for the restaurant I work in - most of it has not been written down - they just do it so often.  But not good when dummies like me come into the kitchen !

Post the recipe even if there is something similar Chookie - more the merrier.  :-* :-* :-*

Probably would have been better to leave it at..

... Junket is sweet curds and whey whereas blacmange is like custard.  :)

.. but just thought the audience needed some education like the couple from Victoria thought on My Kitchen Rules last night  - sooooo funny. (Them, not me - I'm just gross as you said)

Tonight the kids have demanded chicken schnitzel - too easy!  We will have it with Judy's Parmesan Spuds and I am going to make extra to fry tomorrow!!  Can't wait - yum!!

I have had a bit of an Indian themed day today  ;D  Kulfi, Tikka Paste, Butter Chicken, I had the idea of Nann bread but thought of it too late for dinner. I was hoping to get some sweet chilli sauce made too but didn't have enough chillis  :-))

Pistachio TMXer but it was a bit sweet with the rose water. I didn't have cardamom powder and found that the small amount of seed I had wouldn't grind to a powder - they were a bit too gritty so I had to leave this bit out of the recipe so as a result the rose water taste takes over a bit  :( but it is still nice. Not as nice as the one I had at Mela in the northbridge ages ago  :)
