Finally got around to doing some Christmas cooking.  Made a fruit cake, two batches of peppermint crisp fudge and a double batch of honey cakes.  Crisped up the almond bread and made a batch of Judy's Nutty Chocolate Crunch using roasted macadamia's.

The steps would have tested you cookie, how are you feeling after a rest?

You've done a lot in a short time Trudy, once you set your mind to it, it all just happens.

Sounds great Trudy. I might get on to Christmas cooking by Friday, am planning to do the last shop before DD arrives.

Just made a big bolognaise in the Aga for lunch, other meals and freezer.
Put in loads of veggies: onions, red pepper, garlic, carrots & swede, red lentils ( parboiled) and a jar of tomato and basil sauce, and a tin of chopped tomatoes. It may have been a cheats's version. It it was very good, with wholemeal pasta and a side of either spinach or rocket leaves, depending on palate.

Second batch of fruit mince pies using leftover Pear fruit mince from the Festive flavours booklet, JulieO's pastry much better than the almond pastry from the EDC (in my opinion) but I still managed to overcook them I think. Much happier with them though and once sprinkled with icing sugar to serve at the Morpeth staff afternoon tea tomorrow, they will be fine.

Another 2 batches of almond bread have been started - one for DD for Christmas Day.

Another batch of worcestershire sauce, this time for one of the residents who has gone through half a bottle since the 10th December  ???

Now I think I am well and truly finished my Christmas cooking.

I'll have to try that fruit mince Judy.
So incredibly tired I think I could sleep for a week! And 20 more weeks to go! It is DH's b'day today and he has invited the family over for dinner :O
Thank goodness his favourite food is Indian so took a few shortcuts used bought curry paste and the slow cooker to make butter chicken and I made Pork Vindaloo (no cheats with this one). And I just couldn't bake today (no energy!) so bought a sponge and decorated it with kit kats and m&ms.
Now off to bed for a quick nap before everyone comes!
I have a Facebook page with all things cooking, you'll find it here: https://www.facebook.com/What-Amber-Ate-1097437023601587/

Enjoy the nap Jamberie.

I've just made some Cranberry and Pistachio Shortbread from the Festive Book. I will post a photo when it is cooked.
