Lovely pie Kimmy. The soup and loaf look wonderful Cookie. Did you use fresh mandarins for the sugar Chookie?

Alyce's SD isn't really like a SD at all. It is made much the same as Helene's 1 minute dough. It really is just a low yeasted bread that stands 12-24 hours before being baked with no knocking down. Nikki used whey to make hers from draining her yoghurt. That did give it a sour tang.

Chookie the market sounds fun, as usual.  The mandarin sugar fascinated me.  I'm also interested in how you will use it.

This morning I made some Raspberry Squares from The Annoyed Thyroid's blog. They are very easy. http://www.theannoyedthyroid.com/?s=Raspberry+squares

I made Chookies Apple Cake tart for dinner last night and it was very very yummy. It makes a very large cake so I put some in the freezer. We had it with Jo's Chicken and rice soup which is always delicious. Went to get the brown rice and one whole container had to be thrown out with pantry moths even though I did a massive pantry clean up not long ago.

Mandarin sugar looks interesting; I am thinking of custard as one use. I love making my EDC custard with orange peel instead of lemon for a change.

Must try the cheats sour dough Cookie. I think I will do my starter again as I have left it in the fridge unattended for too long.

Take your SD starter out and give it a feed troupie. I've found mine recovers after being left for several weeks.

So true. Leave it on the bench, feed it and give it a stir each time you pass.

Used the Mandarin sugar in, Easier than a packet cake and iced with Mandarin juice.
Made an interesting veggie casserole with a very interesting topping.  The topping is made in TMX and spread on top. It is Celeriac, grain mustard and a little butter. Could use olive oil.

Very light with slight Mandarin flavour.  Next time I will double the Mandarin rind added to the sugar.

Cookie, you no doubt noticed the Rat Attack.  ;D
Judy, no recipe for the topping.  Just made it up after inspiration from a blog. Will try however.
