My very first loaf of sour dough bread.  This would never have happened without the help of our bread guru, so a very big thank you Chookie.

What an excellent result Margaret, you must be over the moon.  Chookie loves to help people out and I'm sure she gets just as much satisfaction from seeing such good results as you do.

What a fantastic loaf, it looks brilliant. Clever girl Margaret. I adore Chookie's starter. Mine is still going having received it at the time of the Gracetown  forum fest.

The cooking is fabulous ladies. I have a bounty of chillies, tomatoes, basil, capsicums and passionfruit. This weekend I made passatta, sweet chilli sauce, tomato soup, Tomato sauce, basil pesto scrolls, sweet chilli capsicum dip, lemon and passionfruit cookies and a passionfruit version of Uni's condensed milk cheesecake. I've run out of jars and still have produce leftover!

My very first loaf of sour dough bread.  This would never have happened without the help of our bread guru, so a very big thank you Chookie.
Margaret that SD loaf looks amazing, especially for a first.
We had quite an adventure in getting the starter to Mab.  Post office destroyed the first starter. Can't imagine how this happened.  So I dried some starter and then posted this.  Margaret reconstituted it and diligently fed it.
Cookie , you are doing well to keep yours alive. We will be on town water at Invermay and I am wondering how you treat your water for SD.

Last night I made an Apple Tart Cake for Morning tea for the carriers. Also made curry puffs and Sausage rolls.
Also made creamy vegetable soup with chicken stock and left over chicken for Dinner.

That looks amazing Kimmy  ;D
A lot of cooking you have done! Amazing effort!!! ;D

over the whole weekend the only cooking i did apart from the meals was an apple and raspberry cake, trialing it GF & DF.  Judging by the fact the last pieces went in the lunchboxes today, I'm thinking hit!!!  ;)

Well done Astarra.

Chookie for my SD I use water that has been boiled and then cooled. Yoke always said to use filtered water, which I did. But then my filter died and I started doing this. I've now been doing it for several years.

Thanks for your comments on my bread Chookie.  It wouldn't have happened without you.  We have decided to go away for a couple of weeks so I am taking my SD with me. :) :)

Today I made some more tomato chutney and a small lamb casserole for the fridge.  I was very annoyed when I found that the lamb was almost half fat.  380g in the packet and 130g of fat and sinew etc.  I will certainly be having something to say next time I am at the supermarket.   >:( >:(
