Haven't posted for awhile. Have been busy cooking but not taking many photos (the family are relieved!) Today I whipped up a quick birthday cake. Mud cake, choc ganache and mint cheesecake balls for decoration. Added in some healthy strawberries for a balanced diet

Kimmyh, have been missing you and your beautiful cooking. Lovely cake.
Family for Dinner and as we will be out most of today I prepared most of the meal yesterday.
Corned beef, mashed potatoes, mashed parsnip and carrot done. Cauli with cheese sauce and sprouts to be cooked. waffles with maple syrup for pud.

Kimmy that cake is gorgeous.
I've found my cooking mojo at last. Made Tenina's mushroom soup frozen half, Sistermixers zucchini slice. Skinnymixers Spag Bol and Thermomix baking blogger rhubarb tart which DH and I eat over 3 nights. Some made it to the freezer before DS visited and inhaled the contents of the fridge. Good way to get rid of left overs.

I had a chuckle at your DS inhaling the fridge contents Jeninwa.
Lovely looking cake Kim. The strawberries definitely make it healthy.

Gorgeoous cake Kimmy.
I always put Do Not Eat labels on any food in the fridge if I didn't want ex SIL to eat when he called in. He was a big boy with a big appetite.

Fantastic cake Kimmyh; will have to show my GD as she is getting into cake decorating and doing very nicely for a 12 yr old.
Chookie I have made the first batch of horseshoe rolls; the horse was a bit deformed though as some of the middle part of the rolls joined up as they were cooking. That said; they were very tasty. I did as you said and used the Vienna recipe. DH said they could have been browner and crustier on top but he did like them. Will try your No Fuss recipe for the next batch and also try the egg wash on top. My shaping was the biggest problem. Thanks for the help; it is much appreciated.

Outstanding cake, Kimmyh. Bet everyone loved tucking in to it - after they got over the trauma of having to dismantle the decorations on top!

Troupie, the egg wash will certainly make them browner. There are degrees of brownness you can get. Just whites with a little milk, light brown, whole egg with a little milk medium brown, ( this is what I use), just yolk with a little milk, dark brown.
For shape, I was wondering if you rolled up a triangular shape.
So glad you have tried to make them.

Thanks Chookie for the browning guide
Recently I made rolls and did not use an egg wash, jus sprayed water on top and it took ages to brown, I had to use fan forced to make them brown on the top
Any suggestion what I can do to keep it egg free?
