Bought a chook for $7 at Aldi. Cut the breasts off and made Sate. Popped the rest into SC and added leftover Sweet and sour sauce and a container of cooked mushrooms and a packet of French onion soup and left it to do its thing all day. So 6 serves from a chook with added stuff from freezer and pantry.

One chicken goes a long way for 2 people Chookie, I love the big Costco chickens for this very reason.

We have a couple of Aldi stores quite near us. I usually pop in every now and then. Their chocolate is nice.

We don't have left over chook here, DH turns it into naked bones!

The other night I was watching Paul Hollywood in NY. He visited a baker who made a loaf very similar to Helene's One Minute Bread. The only difference was that he didn't knead the dough initially. He simply stirred it until it was combined, and then let it sit for 12-18 hours. DH decided we needed to try this. I think he had forgotten the previous times we had made it.
We tried the no knead method and were pleased with the results. I cooked it in a casserole as I don't have a Dutch oven or anything similar.

That looks like a nice loaf, Cookie.  I love that one minute recipe but haven't made it for ages.

Cookie, that loaf looks delicious. I also often just stir the bread ingredients in a large stainless steel bowel and leave it overnight.

Me too...and their cheese....

Planning on having the family over for dinner again this weekend, 10 adults...two weeks ago we did curries, last week was meatballs and this week might be pulled pork burgers ☺ I have adapted a delicious chocolate mousse recipe using frozen banana, avocado and cacao which went down well last week so will try a repeat performance this week ☺

Not really cooking, but I roasted some capsicums and popped them in oil. The red ones are for me and the green for DH.

Are you going to keep them in the fridge or pantry cookie?  I did some that way once and the oil solidified in the fridge which is why I now freeze them.  I love roasted red capsicum.

I have done them before Judy and you are right, the oil does start to solidify. I just take them out a bit before I use them. I like some with my salad lunch.
