Sorry to hear of your BILs passing, Cookie.  There was a time when 69 was considered old, but now it seems young.

Didn't do much cooking, made a few batches of Iced Coffee Syrup for gifts, some tattie scones, vege stew and a big batch of sausage bake for ourselves.

Oh my! I love how this thread started in 2008 and I now on page 2079!!! Lol! Well I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I was back to basics today. After a move to Tasmania and back, a period of illness and then adopting my African princess this year (who has mild cerebral palsy) I kinda lost my Thermie mojo and became waaay to busy to cook properly (thanks to lots of therapy appointments). But I’m well and truly over the rubbish food we’ve been eating this year and ready for something better.

So what better way to start some good recipes than with the veg stock concentrate. Btw, did the recipe for this change at all when the new book came out for the TM5? Is the recipe in the TM 31 book the one everyone still uses? I then decided to use up the residue in the bowl by making judydawn’s French Onion Dip (sorry I can’t remember how to make it into a link)

Jenni I always use Bron’s Vegetable Stock Paste Recipe. both in my TM31 and TM5 I then use Quirky Cooking Chicken Stock Paste Recipe, again in both TM machines. If you scroll down the page you will see it.

You really can’t go past Dan Lepard for a good biscuit.  Today I made his ginger nuts. Made 52 and they are yummy. Will post recipe as I will certainly be making them again.

Nice looking biscuits Chookie.

I have Kimmy's fruit cake under way here.

My Mum would love one of those biscuits Chookie, she was always a ginger biscuit lover.

Chookie the biscuits look great . Not much cooking here , just meat and veg as so much on that there is no time to plan . Will need to get my mojo back once I have had a few days at home. All good .

Katie, good to see you coping.
Made carrot based protein balls.  Wontons again for dinner.
Found a new method for shaping cream puffs. Used a large ice cream scoop.
Made dried Apricot conserve for gifts.
Made Bess’s tomato sauce. Used tinned toms, will need to change process a bit.   Still very nice.

I've only been making bread as we have been up and down to Rockingham where BIL lived. DH has the lucky job of being the executor of his will!!!!! Lucky man.
I made some of thermomixbaking bloggers buttercream yesterday for cakes tomorrow. I attended her class last week and even though it was a mad rush to get there I loved meeting her. She is really lovely and her fiancée popped the question on the Great Ocean Road. I bought her latest bread book as I have all the others. Also some little books she had there. We tried a lovely Lemon Polenta Cake and it keeps well, so I will be making it for the wake.
